SMDFlea, most of HPs have 2 bios families, i.e 640/650 G9 are made with U75/U86, 830/840 G9 have U70/U71, 830/840 G10 have V70/V75 and so on. In their bios update package you'll find 2 bios images, one for each bios family.

Goodluck.
Thanks once again Hoaca for your eternal support :-) So I flashed it with your patched bios, it recovered data and again I'm stuck with the password so I guess I will have to flash both chips. Now as far as I know there is not a clean set for U72 listed, my BIOS version. Can you help with that? I've added both of my ec EC and SPI BIOS. Thanks again!
In the end found a working U72 BIOS set but it needs a clean ME. Tried to transfer my old ME but it did not work out well and machine won't even start. Hopefully somebody can help me cleaning the ME on this one and they can be used for U72 reference then. Thanks!
