    macbook 820-3437 with strange behavior

The system had liquid damage and was repaired by cleaning and replacing faulty parts.
The only issue is that it cannot power on sometimes when connected to power and has to be disconnected from the power in order to power on properly with battery and after that power can be connected.
This happens only if you boot to OS so if you just power on and off without booting to OS it has no issues powering on again with the ac power connected.

I have also reprogrammed a clean bios

    Any suggestions?

820-3437 boards always do a start/stop/start/stop/start fan spin sequence before an attempt is made to boot. Is it doing that on magsafe only at least? Also ensure you are using a genuine magsafe charger and not a knock off.

Re: macbook 820-3437 with strange behavior

The first boot sequence is always successful, the issue can occur only if the system boots at OS first and shutdown after.
The charger is not original but I use it at same models without any issues.
At the case the system refuses to power on with the charger connected if I disconnect it always powers on with the battery.
Same issue occurs with the data cable disconnected from the magsafe board so the charger quality is not the deal here.

What area of the board was liquid damaged? Seems SMC related.

Indeed SMC area has issues, so far I had fixed some components there and now I did also a SMC reflow that seems to solve the issue so far.

          Thank you for your time!

General question about MacBook power rails for repair.
            by SarcasticOP
I am looking at an A2337 and found this for the order of power rails and what they do. Can this be confirmed before I dive into hunting down power rails that do not exist or are not neccisary?
            • PPBUS_G3H (12.6V-12.8V)
              • This is the main power rail that supplies power to the entire system. Check this rail first, as it must be present for other power rails to work.
            • PP3V42_G3H (3.42V)
              • This power rail is derived from PPBUS_G3H and is used to power the SMC (System Management Controller) and other essential circuits. It should be present if PPBUS_G3H is working correctly.
            • PPVRTC_G3H (3.3V)

            Macbook Air - 2018 - A1932 - 820-01521-02 - Bootlooping if Power Button Connected
            by reessi
            Hello,

With the power button connected it either boot loops with the apple logo or no display but the charging meter shows it looping on charging every few seconds.

            No corrosion any where!

Tried a replacement power button off ebay and the same.

Very occasionally it will work with the power button connected!

Same results with or without the battery.

Can it be a fault with the Audio board or the mainboard?

The touch Id assembly connects through the Audio board first then to the Mainboard.

Macbook Pro 13'' 2017 A1708 Won't power on with battery connected.
            by platinumsteel
Hi guys i have a 820-00840 that works fine and boots up as long a battery is not connected. I initially thought it was a bad battery so i went ahead and bought a new battery for it and slapped it in yesterday and realize that the same fault exists. When i screw in the battery and connect the little battery strip and i press the power button it will not power on.At that time If i connect the charger i get fan spin for 10 seconds then stops but the machine won't power on.If i disconnect the little battery strip and re-plug the charger the machine boots as normal. It's not the battery connector strip...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
            by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Macbook Pro A1707 Indicates charging even with no power adapter connected.
            by CAPTGENE
Hey guys. I have a Macbook Pro A1707 that indicates charging even with no power supply connected. The Macbook is working normally except for the wrong battery charging indicator. Where in the schematic diagram should I start looking for anomalies? Thanks in advance.
