Very strange SPI issue with 820-01521 Board

Working on an 820-01521 board that we replaced a dead CD3215 on, pretty standard. No issues were found after repairs. We stocked the board and recently pulled it to send to a customer, and noticed a very quirky issue that we've never seen before.

The only symptom is: When attempting to connect to WiFi pre-boot (i.e. to run AHT or to load Internet Recovery), after selecting the network and when entering the password, the board acts as if the keyboard is inputting characters--i.e. phantom registering--but it's not. The issue ONLY occurs at this time (SPI input presumably, before keyboard switches to a USB device). Once OS is loaded, there are absolutely no issues with keyboard/trackpad or WiFi.

    Things we've already tried:

    1. Have tried 3 different trackpad/cables and 3 known-good keyboards.
    2. Have tried restoring T2 multiple times.
    3. Have tried reinstalling MacOS multiple times.
    4. Have tried 3 entirely-different test assemblies--different LCDs, batteries, audio/IO boards, TouchIDs, USB-C ports, etc--all different and all known-good.
    5. Replaced keyboard/trackpad connector on board, as well as all related SPI controller circuitry for kbd/tpad (U6860/6865).

At this point, I'm suspecting a possible T2 issue. Before we worried about that, I wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas. This one has been so odd and I'm out of ideas of what else to try. I'm wondering if MAYBE U3000/low-volt USB circuitry could be related, maybe?? But I'd expect issues/symptoms beyond the one we're seeing. Very odd.

To add to the strangeness: The issue persists with keyboard/trackpad totally disconnected from the board. So something very funky going on.

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
      by Asraf Atb
      Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

      Assuming...

Sony Bravia KDL-70W850B T-CON board / software update issue
      by eclectric
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue before I give up on this TV.

In short, I replaced the T-CON board due to an error code indicating that was the problem, after which it flashed a green and orange LED meaning software update required. I cannot get the tv to do the required update via USB, so I am stuck.

Here is a rundown of the symptoms and the steps I have taken to troubleshoot:

I inherited the TV with the symptom that it would turn on, then turn off after 5-10 seconds and a red LED flashed 4 or 5 times. Sometimes it would be 4, sometimes...

Nikon D5 – dead, power board issue ?
      by corrize
Hello, the DSLR has heavyly fallen. It is dead : no sign of life and display nothing.

When it worked, it always displayed a card present state on LCD display, even when the battery is empty it display a empty battery symbol.
I found a dead fuse, I replaced it and a mosfet burnt, I changed it and another fuse burned. Nothing burned after. And I can't find any short circuit anywhere, it's weird.

Now, I try to understand how it works.

There is two boards (the little one on pictures has no component) : the first is a « power board » : managing...
