        Need a few measurements:

        1) PR8812, pin # 1 - what is the voltage ? Should be ~3 volts.

        2) PR8812, pin # 2 - what is the voltage ?

        3) PR8816, pin # 2 - what is the voltage ?

        4) Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode. Start with > 1k resistance.

        Resistance across PR8816 ? Should be ~1k (1,000 ohms).

Switch to > 1M resistance scale.

        Resistance across PR8812 ? Should be ~1Mohms.

The voltage goes up from 2.6-2.7 little by little and remains stable at 3.017. This procedure takes about 10-15 seconds from 2.7 to 3.017

Now inside Windows, there is a cross on the battery and it says:
                  plug in 100% fully charged
While the battery is not connected and the MOSFET PQ8803 is out of the board

                    Hello
I could not find the problem of the charging light turning on.
I assembled the laptop and installed the battery on the device. After 4 or 5 hours, I saw that the device started charging. Later, I took out the charger, after 40 minutes it was empty, I connected the charger again and after an hour it was 100%. Only when the battery was being charged, it went up by 2% and 2%, and the same way while emptying the battery, it was empty by 2% and 2%.
The device has been working for 3 days without any problems.
I no longer care about the charging light of the device, it turns on when there is no battery.

                    Thank you mon2 and mcplslg123

In newer Asus laptops, charging light is on even when there is no battery connected, and they auto start when the battery is unplugged and charger plugged. Your only problem was the burned mosfet and very discharged semifunctional battery.

But why, when the battery was not connected, in Windows, the status of the battery was shown as charging and 100% ؟؟

Asus is a master for screw ups with their buggy firmware and way of operating, although it can be some problem on the board, but the chances are very small. Seen this stupidity many times, it's freaking confusing until one get tens of machines and realize that this is normal behavior.

A bad battery can also be the cause, since you wrote that the battery is faulty.

Get another battery to test and confirm and if it still shows 100%, check the data and clk line.
Note that the voltage might be ok and the resistor impedance fine but it's a signal ,you need an oscilloscope to check the data and clock line and it must have a 9 duty circle.

Thank you, but my main question is, why does the charging light turn on when the battery is not connected to the device, and in Windows it shows the battery status at 100%, while the system works for 4-5 days without any problems.
Anyway, thank you very much dear ones

                                Hey guys,

i have a asus motherboard here and as the title says after the first mosfet (in the picture) there is nothing more than 3.15v.
I injected 19v and max. 1 amp at the charging port and there is not voltage drop or smth. It's just taking 19v and 1 milliamp.
Then i tried to inject 19v and max 1amp after the current sensor and there it first takes 19v and 4 milliamps and after 2 seconds it is taking nothing (no current).
I measured on the coils on board everything seems fine. Also the main power rail is not shorted (infinite resistance).
                                Now i thought something...

                                by Scotchmist
I have an Asus GA502D, it had a blown mosfet which I replaced and the laptop booted into windows, a few mins later it shut off, the same mosfet was blown. I thought maybe just a bad mosfet but same thing happened again, a few mins in windows and shuts off.

I have removed the mosfet and can run the laptop no problem

                                The MOSFET is FDPC5018SG

Can anyone point me in the direction of what could be the cause of this, could it be the controller rt3663bc?

                                Thanks

                                by MicroSMD Lab
The board number is GU502DU. I repaired this a couple weeks ago and it came back with the same issue, same mosfet failed (PQH9201). I'm hoping that the GPU was spared this time.
I used the same replacement part (purchased from Mouser) and I'm certain the soldering was done properly since it took just as much effort to remove as before. What could cause this same mosfet to fail? I'm thinking if it was unsuitable then the others would fail too. I looked for similar failures on YTube and the mosfet was replaced with AOE6930 in one instance and AOE6932 in the other but it's possible that the...

Could anyone comment on the purpose of the MOSFET circled in red in the attached photo of an ASUS ROG X299 Extreme VRM?

I'm trying to fix an ASUS motherboard(WS x299 SAGE) with a similar VRM where this MOSFET has burnt out along with one of the IR3555m driver chips. From looking at photos of motherboard VRMs on the internet, it seems only some ASUS motherboards have a MOSFET like this. Although I've seen some photos of ASUS z370 boards where it's not populated. The MOSFET is usually a NTMFS4C06N. It has its drain connected to the output of the Vcore VRM, and on...
