    Around 12.6v on PPBUS_G3H

    12.3v pin3 of D6902

Gotta send it back now so all I can do. :-(

Re: A1706 MBP Strange Power On with battery issue

    Thanks for replying.

I've already told my customer it's almost a non issue as the thing powers up from cold on battery when the lid is opened, so not so much an issue for them.

I will however do your suggestions before I put it back together and report back here. It might give a clue for someone else as not common by the looks.

I suppose most people have the 'open lid power on' option set on so it's not a problem until the battery has failed. Then opening and closing the lid won't work.

    FYI for anyone:
Replacing the battery makes it work again , but doesnt fix the power button problem. Use the lid-power-on as an interim, or plug it in to the charger.

What is the voltage of PPBUS_G3H with only the charged battery ? (remove the external dc adapter)

This is to confirm the operation of battery mosfet @ Q7065.

Also measure the voltage of PPVIN_G3H_P3V3G3H with only the battery. You can check this voltage @ pin # 3 of D6902.

A1706 MBP Strange Power On with battery issue

    Hi,

I have an odd issue with this A1706 which I'm having problems tracking down.

It will cold boot when plugged in to the charger.

Battery charges up fine and works fine unplugged.

Cold boot on battery power does NOT work!

Cold boot on battery power by opening and closing the lid works!

No liquid damage or burnt stuff. There was one small cap hanging off just below the CPU (C1028) but that wasn't the issue. Looked like a manufacturing fault.

    Anyone seen this issue before?

Mid 2014 A1398 MacBookPro,Is it feasible to remove the battery from the MBP and connect it to an external power supply?
    by Gust zhang
I have a 15 - inch Retina MacBook Pro from the mid - 2014 model. Here is the link: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...light=820-3662 . The battery broke some time ago. After I removed the battery and plugged in the original power adapter, the MBP could boot up normally. However, when I checked with IntelPowerGadget, I found that the CPU speed was limited to 0.8 GHz, and it ran very slowly. Later, I found a solution on GitHub. There is an open - source project called cputune that can set the CPU running speed. So I can now run the MBP at full speed. But another problem...

HP ELITE X2 1013 G3 weird battery issue
    by huzo
Hi, so the old battery was getting error stated it's capacity is starting too get low and should be replaced, so the customer bought a new one and replaced it, but the new battery was also getting this notice that it's capacity is getting low and should be replaced, so i took the laptop for testing and the battery is charging at the terminal at 8.03V , the voltage of the battery is 7.7V, and drawing around 600mA when charger is put and the laptop is off...so that should be ok... but the bios system test doesn't recognize the battery and can't do the battery test and so is the hp battery manager,...

Asus X302LA battery power on issue
    by s_henya
    Hey all,

    very weird case,
When laptop is connected to charger, battery is charging and holding charge.
When connected to charger:Upon power on, laptop turns on then off then on again.
Without charger, upon power on, laptop is turning on then off and staying off. If i try to push again on power button it’s doing the exact same thing.

i ordered a new original battery (i doubt it’s really original but a very good copy) exactly same phenomena.
i upgraded the bios to 206 but no change.

Guess my MB is the problem, but what should i check?...

I have had this battery backup for at 2 to 4 years now and the battery when bad and this is weird battery size it is the same length as a 12 volt @ 7 amp hour battery however the depth of is not the same as a 12 volt @ 5.5 amp hour battery

I have several battery packs that are A123 batteries cell so I bought a lipo4 BMS balancing protection board for these batteries and I have a configuration that is 4S 3P these battery packs were 3S 2P so I reconfigured them but left the tabbing on one side of the battery row of battery cells and re-tabbed the other side to the configuration that...

    Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
    by GLISIT
    Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...
