Macbook Pro A1708 820-00875 No boot

    Hello Guys,
I have a 820-00875 board here which is not booting. Fan spin for some seconds but no boot, actually I saw it booting once but then after putting passcode screen became black and system freezed.

    History
Mac was working normally and then system freezed with a screen glitch. The customer then rebooted it and it started but stop after he put passcode (same behaviour wich I saw once. No prior repair on motherboard just a changed battery some months ago.

    Diagnosis
Checked all power lines all present as well as ALL_SYS_PWRGD that sits at 3.3V. L7370, L7220, L8060 and L7900 got 1V stable (I think they should drop around 0.6V) while L7210, L7420, L7410 and L7430 got 0V. L7730 is 1.05V

Usb ampmeter start 5v then 12.6 and sits at 20.2V once there it goes from 0.02a to 0.20 then sits at 0.32a (battery disconnected, board on desk). Occasionally loop back to 0.02a and come high to 0.32a

    CPUVR_PWM1 and CPUVR_PWM2 bot at 5V
CPUVR_FCCM is 0v which might be the culprit. This signal should be generated by U7100

Looking under thermal camera u7330 got 35 degrees celtius on the left up corner (around pin 2,1,12). CPUVR_FCCM is not shorted to ground.

Resistance for big coils as follow:

    L7370 7.7 ohm
    L7220 4.8 ohm
    L8060 42.6 ohm
    L7900 32 ohm
    L7210 5.5 ohm
    L7420 2.4 ohm
    L7410 2.4 ohm
    L7430 2.4 ohm
    L7730 397 ohm

At first stage based also on graphic glitch before shut down described by the customer I thought was cpu fried but after I saw it booting once I have some hope for this board so I need some guidance.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Check the voltage on the esd dual diodes found on the battery connector for starters.

Sorry I don't understand which one you mean but if you mean D6905 is 13V pin 1, 20V pin 2 and 19.7 pin 3

Every design by apple has an esd diode on the battery for the smbus interface (scl and sda). Used for communication with the BMS board in the battery pack.

Measure the voltage of these sda and scl lines.

It seems that I cannot find what you told me on that battery maybe because its not original. Could you please explain further?

              I see so

              SMBUS_BATT_SCL is 3.4V
              SMBUS_BATT_SCL is 3.4V

                Good voltage.

What is the voltage of PPBUS_G3H ? (U7000)

It was 13.5v but never mind customer decided to not repair it, he said he will buy a new one. Thanks anyway.

They are so brainwashed by the ads and 'cool factor'. Go back for more punishment. My son and wife are the same - Apple or nothing at all. I recall a number of years ago, there was a coverage of 'fake Apple stores' in China. They had a graphic from an official iPOD poster - same graphic as we had here in our building (we were their repair rep in our city for years) but the one in the fake store read 'If you don't have an Apple, you're a loser'. As if...funny though.

                      Hey everyone,

Usually, I'm not the type to ask for help, but this time, I'm calling on your wisdom and expertise I've seen what this community can do, so I'm pretty sure you guys can help me out.

Here's the deal: I noticed my MacBook got stuck in a boot loop. After opening it up and doing some initial troubleshooting, I found that the boot loop stops only when the trackpad is unplugged.

Now, just so you know, the trackpad actually works — I tested it with another motherboard and it's all good. Same for the cable, no issues there. The problem is only...

                      Macbook Pro A1708 no boot/charging

Hello everyone, I have a MBP A1708 with the following problem: Not turning on, only the fan starts to spin for a few seconds then nothing. No chime, nothing. CPU gets warm, All voltages are present on the board as far as I measured.
If I do SMC reset, it does the fan spin procedure, but otherwise it's doesnt reacts to the power button.

Two things I managed to pin point:
Battery voltage is 2.2V, very dead wont charge even If I leave it on the charger.
And after following this wiki (https://repair.wiki/w/A1708_2016,_20...ar_MacBook_Pro) I...

Macbook Pro mid 2015 battery required to boot?
                      by twonk9098
I have read many forums that state the Macbook Pro 2015 needs / does not need a battery to boot. I'm not convinced as yet which is correct.
The Macbook Pro mid 2015 I have has no battery and do not really want to buy one just to test.
This model has the newer trackpad which is not clickable when turned off.
At the moment, without battery it does turn on with no display (with backlight), no chime and then turns off after 13 seconds. I see this from the power draw on my DTPS.
If I hold the power button whilst connecting the magsafe 2 charger it turns on, again no image but...

Macbook A2442 820-02098 boot and display issue
                      by veedo
                      Hi All
I have MacBook A2442 which had keyboard replaced and now it doesn't turn on correctly, it have sound chime from time to time and Apple logo shows on the display and there is no backlight on, apple logo appear and stuck on kind of boot loop. But if one of the display flexes is disconnected from the motherboard then MacBook turns of fine with the external monitor and it keeps working fine.
Without keyboard its still have same issue, I don't have second display to replace it and compare but does display can make issues with boot?
                      I found component UD290 ( SF0101-I2C) little...

The MacBook does not boot. It is restored via DFU without errors. The MacBook charges and consumes 20V/2A. There is no sound when connecting the charger. The caps lock does not light up, but the touchpad clicks. The fans do not rotate. No signs of life. Please advise.
