Here we will give just a few pointers to what kind of troubleshooting has to be done if you suspect a board issue.
Powers on but no display- Check if it's no backlight, no image or both
- If no image:
- Check if external display works, try with internal LCD disconnected as well.
- Measure voltage on LCD power rail(s)
- If no backlight but image is present
- Try to locate the fuse (or resistor or inductor) to backlight rail and check if it's blown
- Measure voltage on backlight rail, backlight enable signal, brightness adjustment signal
- If no image:
- Check if laptop is POSTing: pressing caps lock key triggers caps lock LED, activity of USB drive blinks when turning on, audio plays, HDD is being read, etc… If it's not POSTing:
- Check RAM compatibility
- Reseat RAM and clean RAM slots
- Measure exact voltage on CPU VCore
- Check CPU Reset signal
- Follow power sequence if it exists in the schematics
- Follow list of power rails if it exists in the schematics
No power- Check Laptop battery charging circuit
- Check if DC-in jack LED lights up
- Check voltage on all the large inductors
- Follow power sequence if it exists in the schematics
- Follow list of power rails if it exists in the schematics
Note: don't forget to trigger power button when measuring for the rails that only come up when machine is turned on.
When requesting help, please attach a picture of the board with voltage and resistance to ground measurements on all the large inductors after triggering power button.
Powers on, display ok but something is wrong afterwards- Exclude software issue by booting from another drive with Windows 10/Linux/macOS
- Check if it's no backlight, no image or both

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
Hi all , thanks for having me & I think this has been asked before but my case seems a bit odd.
I have a MacBook Pro , board 820-2915a and it turns on , chimes etc etc , keyboard lights up, fans spins , can turn caps lock on/off but screen is dead.
Iv tried the resets , shine torch through back logo , nothing , it seems the screen has no power. If I plug charger , it charges but if I disconnect battery it displays green light but won't turn on. Iv tried screen on with another board & it works & seems I'm not getting any voltage at pin 2 , next to ground pin .

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.
Model number is TH-50PZ85U
Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.
Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.
I also hear a few clicks.
I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on... -

I have a dead Sony 55X850D
when plug in, black screen, no front white or red LED, no back light no screen
Voltages I get
3.3v LD/power and main board
reg 12V
reg 19V
3.3v on power on pin
no Tcon on
no tcon 12v
no BL_on
I do get BL_ERR 2.0v
I tried to bypass it by ground it but still get same symptom
I did also found a possible shorted cap on main board as it is showing 10 ohms when measure with meter
or is possible the chip next to...
