Hi i've THINKPAD T450S - NM-A301 with no power when i diagnosed it i'm only getting 20v on the main power nothing else on U41 chip that generate 5v and 3v i only get 20v on VIN pin and 0v on EN, EN1 and EN2 pins when i check the schematic EN, EN1 and EN2 signals comes from SIO chip and there's no 3,3v around SIO chip there's only 20v on pin 65 that's. Is the SIO chip dead? please help

Re: THINKPAD T450S - NM-A301 no power
The impedance on L4 = 3.1 k ohms on L3 its not stable it keeps on jumping between Mili ohms and K ohms. The U41 is not getting hot. The Voltages on tps51220 pins there are all 0v except pin 22 which is 3.3v and pin 23 which is 20vComment

Re: THINKPAD T450S - NM-A301 no power
Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode (2k scale).
Measure the resistance to ground of VREG5 (pin 29) of U41.
Post the readings.
VREG5 will only enable if EN (U41, pin 12) is a logic HIGH.
EN (pin 12) of U41 receives this signal from the TQFP128 (Toshiba) part TB62D516FG (TQFP128 14X14) @ U101 (pin 96) = KBC ??Comment

Re: THINKPAD T450S - NM-A301 no power
OK the resistance starts from 567.8 k omhs and keeps on droping rapidly until it reaches 457.6 k ohms that's when it becomes steady i don't understand itComment

Re: THINKPAD T450S - NM-A301 no power
The rather high resistance is ok and confirms there is no excessive load (ie. short circuit or a bad cap) on this rail. So this rail has no reason to turn OFF.
Now for this rail to enable, the EN pin of U41 needs to be a logic high as per the shared datasheet for this component.
This logic level for the EN pin comes upstream from the Toshiba component (pin 96).
Is the Toshiba component warm / hot to the touch ? Review if the power rails are present on this component.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by acedogblastThis is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.
There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as... -
by PaffoHello,
I recently got my hands on a batch of Thinkpad Tablet 2 that a local business was throwing away. They all have the same issue, no Power.
I do have a working one that i also took and the first thing i did was trying to power it without the battery being inserted.
It seems that these tablets do not work unless the battery is in (my PSU is 5V5A so i doubt it's a current thing, probably design).
I thought i'd be lucky so i took the battery from the working one and i tried it in 2-3 of the broken ones, but no luck, still no power.
The current draw is 18mA... -
by sam_sam_samI have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump
One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy... -
by eukalHello, i have a Panasonic Toughbook Cf-H2 Mk1 that won't power on. The battery charge without problem but no response from the laptop when i press the power button.
I have disassemble and unpluged the cmos battery, same no power on on battery with and whitout the adapter, and only adapter
I have check the voltage i have the main power rail ( +-16v normal for toughbook it's not 19v). I have on the coil after power management chip 3.3v and 5v.
I have check the 3.3v on the power button ribbon cable attach to the motherboard and the voltage go to 0v when i press the button. So... - Loading...
