    VCCGT mosfet damaged igpu?

acer predator g9-791g, i had previous thread about short 19v, but i solved this problem by replacing mosfet, in fact both two phases, just as a precaution.

Mosfet that went is responsible for phase B of VCCGT (iGPU) [u8004].

can improperly soldered mosfet do this?

    https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...a40e178c24.pdf

originally manufacturer for this mosfet was coded T, i received from manufacturer G, if this has anything to do.

Without power adapter plugged in, computer restarts till recovery window. Without drivers and no power supply it boots OK. So i'm not sure if it's mosfets or not.

I'm not a professional. So i may ask weird questions.

look more like VRAM damage or bad cable

igpu uses system RAM, i used prime95 stress test and ms memory diagnostics tool, didn't find any problems.

bad cable? Without drivers screen is Ok.

Mosfet which gone bad is high side that connects to CPU's iGPU.

Open board view, it will be easier to see. U8004 mosfet.

Where to buy CPU without insane prices? alibaba?

nvidia gpu is fine. I can play games with it. iGPU is the problem, which means CPU replacement.

Look at the block diagram, only way to bypass CPU is to use display port.

Honestly speaking, there is no reliable source to buy soc's. Best is to get one from unrepaired board where you know cpu is fine(some tests has to be carried to be sure). Reballing it is a nightmare though and to solder it properly requires very good skill and machine/tools. If this is your first attempt to replace soc, be prepared for disappointment as it does take time to hone your skill.

How do you test MOSFET in laptops ?
                  by Jane
I tried to use this method:

                  Testing an N-channel MOSFET:

Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.

Step 2: Charge the Gate (turn on the MOSFET)
Now, place the red probe on the Gate (G) and the black probe on the

Asus X712EA 3 volts after the first mosfet
                  by AppleLover123
                  Hey guys,

i have a asus motherboard here and as the title says after the first mosfet (in the picture) there is nothing more than 3.15v.
I injected 19v and max. 1 amp at the charging port and there is not voltage drop or smth. It's just taking 19v and 1 milliamp.
Then i tried to inject 19v and max 1amp after the current sensor and there it first takes 19v and 4 milliamps and after 2 seconds it is taking nothing (no current).
I measured on the coils on board everything seems fine. Also the main power rail is not shorted (infinite resistance).
                  Now i thought something...

ASUS ROG Zephyrus GPU Mosfet repeat failure
                  by MicroSMD Lab
The board number is GU502DU. I repaired this a couple weeks ago and it came back with the same issue, same mosfet failed (PQH9201). I'm hoping that the GPU was spared this time.
I used the same replacement part (purchased from Mouser) and I'm certain the soldering was done properly since it took just as much effort to remove as before. What could cause this same mosfet to fail? I'm thinking if it was unsuitable then the others would fail too. I looked for similar failures on YTube and the mosfet was replaced with AOE6930 in one instance and AOE6932 in the other but it's possible that the...

                  Nitro AN515-55 not booting
                  by felix27
                  Hi,
i am currently trying to fix an ACER Nitro AN515-55. Originally the 19V was shorted by the VCCGT Powerstage. After removing it the short was gone. I tried replacing the mosfet and also booting the system without it and a Monitor connected to HDMI. In both cases the system lights up, cpu, gpu and pch get warm but there is nothing on the screen. Is it possible that the short took out the igpu and the cpu at the same time or is the system just unable to boot without an functioning igpu. The system also didn't boot with a functioning mosfet for the igpu rail. Resistance on VCCGT is 4 ohm,...

                  Asus GA502D keeps blowing mosfet
                  by Scotchmist
I have an Asus GA502D, it had a blown mosfet which I replaced and the laptop booted into windows, a few mins later it shut off, the same mosfet was blown. I thought maybe just a bad mosfet but same thing happened again, a few mins in windows and shuts off.

I have removed the mosfet and can run the laptop no problem

                  The MOSFET is FDPC5018SG

Can anyone point me in the direction of what could be the cause of this, could it be the controller rt3663bc?

                  Thanks
