    How can I program a IT8225VG-128?

Hello. I opened a new thread since the last one was getting off topic. I need to swap an IT8225VG-128 EC chip from a razor laptop rz09-0329, since I have charging issues and WIFI issues. I can only find the chip on ebay and aliexpress but without firmware. Since this is a bga, I dont know how the EC programming needs to be done, plus, I can“t find an EC dump. I have the EC update file, where I extracted a 256 byte BIN file, but I am guessing that is not the same as a full dump.

Any help as to what programmer it needs and where I can find the dump would be helpful.

    Thanks in advance.

You mean 256kB not bytes? That is most likely ec full dump. For programming you need Vertyanov or RT809 or SVOD programmer. If swapping bga then you can find the needed testpoints after you have removed the ec. Find a mainboard with the same ec which has schematic/boardview.

Ok so its a blade pro 2020 model.

EC update - https://rzr.to/BAUxE .If you can boot into windows just run the updater. If you can`t look around the board for another ITE chip, some boards have dual chips, maybe a IT8390VG-256 .I`m sure the IT8225VG-128 is 128KB

Thanks. That EC update is what I have downloaded, but it won't let me install the update, it just says the EC is already on that version. (I haven't bought the new EC chip yet if that's what you meant).

The EC bin file extracted from that update is 256 bytes, not kb. Thas't why I think its not the full bin, but maybe I am mistaken.

I can't find any info on how I would flash a new EC chip. I want to replace this one since the laptop has various issues that others on this forum think could be the EC chip at fault.

Sorry, I was looking at the wrong file. The EC bin I extracted from this update is actually 256kb. The 128 byte file was extracted from rw everything (which I can see doesnt give me access to the full ec).

Hello, found this topic and it describes also my problem.
I replaced the IT8225VG-128/CX chip from Asus mainboard G531GW rev 1.6 with a brand new, blank one.

Now laptop does not start nor gives any signs of life (status LEDs etc.). I still have the lifted orginal chip.

How to read flash from the old and write it to the new BGA chip?

I found some answers on youtube. Can someone who has SVOD ver4 check in the newest software(0.0.3.8) if IT8225VG-128/CX is supported?

What's the cheapest KBC programmer with full support for all chips?

SVOD team have released an adaptor for 128 pin BGA EC's. Available from their store. 120 Euro so not exactly cheap.
