hp 15s-fq0017na Caps lock blinking 3 slow, 2 fast

No voltage on R15 coil.
All other coils have voltage.
No display.
I have cleaned and reseated the single ram module.Problem persists.
Any ideas on this issue.
Hp site suggests memory issue but I have tried working ram still the same.
PLs help.

First write down board number so we can find out what is R15 coil used for.
Check for shorts on that coil, and measure if there are any brief pulses of voltage during startup on that coil.
If no shorts on that rail, I would suggest backing up bios and reprogramming it with clean ME file, also, if the EC is programmable, backup and reprogram it.

In resistance mode to ground both sides of coil show the following.
R24=12 OHMS
1R5=23 OHMS
4R7=00 OHMS
2R2=21 OHMS
R15=18 OHMS

NO brief pulses of voltage on standby on R15

Almost every cap in the vicinity shows short to ground!

As far as I can tell, there is no schematic or boardview available for this board. At least post high quality pictures of the board, maybe someone would be able to help.

1R5 or 4R7-these are ratings for coil/resistor. Does it makes any sense to us. How do i know the coil 1R5 stands for which rail?? Resistance between different coils may vary like hell & heaven,eg, resistance on vcore rail may be 5 Ohms whereas the same rating on ram coil is definitely showing short. So we cant make out anything about ur resistance readings unless u mention the coils are meant for which rail. So please do the home work properly and we'll try to help you as far as possible.

Do not know the solution but the caps lock blink sequence relates to memory and BIOS:

The embedded controller times out waiting for BIOS to return from memory initialization.

I'm fairly new here too but maybe better to open a new topic with more details on the problem (maybe same symphton but your board readings could differ and point to a different source of the problem).

Try to reset emmbedded controller. Check bios image if it is corrupted. Try boot with ram replaced. Try run recovery bios with WIN+B and recovery flash. Possibly embedded controller firmware falure

is this problem solved? i have a HP laptop and it has the same problem. reflashing BIOS solves its problem but black screen and blinking caps lock returns. i always reflash bios, and it always solves the problem but the problem always comes back.
