    Battery replacement - reset ?

    Hello!

    Quick question , i think this is the right category.

    Had a E6230 laying around, and wanted to get it back to life. The battery that had inside was completely dead.
    I have many 18865 cells on side, so i took it apart (carefully but somehow the plactics had to be glued again).
    The new cells are 4.19 , 2458mah , calibrated in external power adapter seperate (likala) , plugged them all together.
    And again the laptop shows 9.5% health .

    Searched around ,and i had to reset the controller as well,but i haven't done it in the past, it was my 1st try to replace the powercells.

    Do we have any way to "reset" the controller or re-calibrate the battery ?

    Thanks!

      Dang it!
      So i will have to leave it as it is, or replace it with a brand new.

        Some Dell Systems have programs for recalibrating batteries to accept a charge. This will run the battery all the way down and then recharge it completely. This will take several hours to run, so it is best to run it overnight. You should use the program for the specified systems only and using a program not designed for your system could void the warranty on the computer.

        * Latitude LM, or Inspiron 3000 or Inspiron 3200 systems use:

        BATRECAL.EXE

        * Inspiron 5000, Inspiron 7000, or Inspiron 7500 use:

        I75BRCA0.EXE

        * The Latitude LS, L400, and X200 and the Inspiron 2100 have battery recalibration options in the BIOS. This is on the Power page of the BIOS Setup.
