Certain keys not working even after keyboard replacement

Hello friends and senior mentors,

So I have this DG721 NM-B242 (Lenovo 330) on which certain keys never work even after keyboard replacement. However USB keyboard is working fine. Can we rule out IO programming or bad SIO chip since the USB keyboard is working fine ?
Is it ok to narrow down this issue to be either flex cable or connection from KB connector to IO ?

Please advise. Thank you for all the knowledge you all have been sharing here.

all the cases that you mentioned are still possible. you can narrow down this issue, if you find more clues.

if u have good connector issue is KBC
