Hi Everyone

I have Hp 450 G2 Laptop. Keyboard keys Q,W,R,U,I,O,P Not working. I replace New keyboard But Issue Same. Exact same Keyboard Not working.

Need Your guidance.

Post or link a schematic for the logic board.

The keyboard is a matrix of mechanical switches where rows & columns will short and the KBC controller IC will decode which key is pressed.

Given that a group of keys are not working - perhaps that single trace is not reaching the KBC controller IC.

Suggest to:

1) remove all power / no battery.

2) Meter in diode mode. Short the probes and you should hear a tone.

3) Red probe to GROUND.

4) Black probe to one of the pins on the keyboard cable connector. Press any key. Do you hear a tone from the meter ? If not, move the BLACK probe to the next pin. Continue till you hear a tone. Press the same key for this test.

5) Then proceed to the keys that do not work and attempt the same test.

In theory you should hear a tone as you press the key on the keyboard.

Just an idea but sounds logical. Post your updates.

As well as bios !!

In hindsight, the keyboard will have a row and column that will short to complete the keypress.

Simple, check for water damage around SIO, check sio to keyboard communication and finally replace SIO.
