Finally got it to work after going thru 3 ports, 2 diodes and knocking off the .1uf cap as well. This has probably been the most challenging repair I've done. With the trace repair and everything that can go wrong on an hdmi port repair going wrong. Learned a lot of things on what to do and no to do for the next time. Thanks you all for the tips. Looks a lot easier on YouTube. 😂

Low melt solder, flux and wick work best together.Yeah I just got a nice solder sucker that I will try out this time. But I did find a sim tray eject (pin) tool worked best though, you can move it up and down the hole while you give it heat....

Thanks I'll try putting another port on. Can you recommend a good soldering iron? The one I have is part of the Quick 8586D+ 2 in 1 station and doesn't get hot enough, even at the max 480 degree Celsius. I don't know if it is the tips or what, tried 2 that came with it. That is why I used the hot air to solder the hdmi port pins. When I tried with the iron the first time, kept bridging the pins, solder wasn't really flowing even with flux....

Ok so after I got the breakout board for my hdmi port I got the following readings.
Pins
1,3,4,6,7,9,10,12, 1.025 voltage drop
2,5,8,11,17 are all ground
13 0.813 voltage drop
14 no connection
15,16 0.801 voltage drop
18 0.583 voltage drop
19 0.827 voltage drop
and continuity reading between pins
1-2 1025
4-5 1024
7-8 1024
11-12 1024
17-18 582 voltage drop
so do I have a bad port? I am also getting a reading on both sides of the small...

Yeah about 3 of the legs were not soldered to pads on the board and were moving. I tried putting on the port again but still no signal. I have ordered a hdmi port breakout board and I should get it in a few days. I will test all 19 pins to determine the problem. I have a list of the correct reading for the pins. Photo is the pad I repaired before I cleaned the pads and put on the port. I put another diode on and I am getting a voltage drop of about 0.6v. These ports are made so you don't fix them easily, I guess, my first PS5 has been a hassle. My first attempt at an hdmi was on a PS4 like 2 months...

That is the GDDR6 1.35V circuit. Those are mosfets or regulators for the ram is my guess....

I have two diodes but when I solder them the marking comes off very easily, when I get flux on them and they move around. Since I can't see the marking my question was about the polarity like which way should the diode be open or closed etc. I've figured that part out, the cathode and anode readings. My other question was, if that diode is a must.for the hmdi port to display? When I test the diode in circuit, is a diode reading of 0.900v range normal when red probe is on anode and black probe is on cathode? When it is reversed I have OL....

PS5 HDMI port diode reading?
I did an hdmi port repair for a PS5 and I lost the small diode z71 SOD923 on the back of the port. I did a trace repair for pin 19 of the port as well. Without the diode I get no display at all. I tried replacing the diode twice but after I get flux on it the marking comes off so I can't tell if I have it on the right orientation. When I measure I get a reading of 1(open) and 923 in diode mode. Is 923 a normal reading for these and also which side should the reading be with regards to the arrow on the board?...

PS5 dead no beeps, no lights
Got a PS5 with no power. I can read some voltages on the back side of the board with PS connected. I do believe I have 12v coming in and I have found 3.3v, 5v on the board. I do have 12V on + terminal of all the electrolytic caps pictured. I believe I have a short on the vcore / apu supply? All the APU 1V small coils all 6 on both sides of the board are reading around 0.6 ohms on both terminals. I believe console may be dead due to a shorted usb port which I was able to unbend the pins. Do I have a shorted mosfet or possibly bad ceramic small cap or a dead apu? The usb ports are connected directly...2 PhotosLast edited by SuperAman; 11-29-2023, 10:27 PM.

Re: Corolla FM CD Cassette Player issues
Tested it for an hour with the tape deck and radio, seems to be fine no more audio cutting out or tape restarting or even errors on the screen. I will try to fix the cd unit and put it all back together.

Re: Corolla FM CD Cassette Player issues
After removing the glue, I have found a broken trace and after soldering it and resoldering the audio ic, I have sound now.

I will try to remove the glue and resolder. It has worked before without the tape and cd drives connected and even with them connected there is no sound now....

Re: Corolla FM CD Cassette Player issues
Attached are the two ic on the board. TC942F audio ic (44 pin) and upd178023gc (80 pin) the microcontroller for whole unit. Then only thing I suspect is on pin 28 and 29 on 80pin ic it looks like the legs are touching (see pics) and I got continuity. What else should I check for?...Last edited by SuperAman; 07-22-2022, 01:55 PM.

Corolla FM CD Cassette Player issues
Hi guys got a Corolla factory cd cassette player that was giving a lot of issues. It's from 06 Corolla, my friend the same unit in his corolla and he has the same issues.
1. Stereo restarts by itself (thought loose connection but does this on bumpy and non bumpy surfaces) ''ST'' letters would blink on off on the radio when this would happen.
2. Audio cuts in and out randomly for a second or a few minutes at a time.
3. Shows MTL ERROR (randomly or after turning it on) assuming to do with tape deck which actually plays.
4. Shows ERROR 3 (randomly or after turning...

Toshiba P745 won't power on
I have a Toshiba P745 PBQAA LA-7101P Rev 1.0. Laptop has power issues. First it refused to power on with battery power, even though it would charge battery. But after removing the battery it was working correctly. Now after taking laptop apart and cleaning board, it refuses to turn on with or without battery, when power switch is pressed, the power light will turn on for 3-5 seconds and it will turn off. At this time there is no fan spin & no display. I believe there is partial short on 3v line, getting a low resistance (less than 100 ohms) on the 3v power supply coil.

Toshiba P745 PBQAA LA-7101P schematic?
Anyone can share Toshiba P745 PBQAA LA-7101P Rev 1.0 schematic? Thanks.
