Keyboard replacement not working issues with Win 10/11 (2) different laptops

I have had an issue that I've never come across in all my years of laptop repairs and it has happened twice in the last couple of weeks. The issue occurred on 2 laptops.

    1. The first laptop a Lenovo Yoga 7 convertible 14 inch 13th gen i7. This laptop came in working, customer wanted to replace the top keyboard assembly for cosmetic reasons so I replaced the keyobard assembly and put their touchpad in it. After booting into windows it would not work, so I assumed I needed to update it or something. Since they didn't give me the Admin account, as it was a company laptop and the local account didn't let me play with it, I told them to reinstall the OS or do an update an it would work. Well they tried everything formatted windows, and came back a couple of weeks later, said it never worked even with Linux. Well I thought, no problem because I had kept their old keyboard. Guess what? After swapping everything back the keyboard will not work even with the original keyboard, same issue now! What is going on, tried reinstalling OS, resetting BIOS, removing CMOS battery, but nothing. Both keyboards work in BIOS but won't work in any windows environment including WINPE or even Windows Setup. I need to fix this as the laptop is back. Anything I'm missing?

    2. The other laptop a An HP x360 convertible laptop came in with the keyboard suddenly not working in windows anymore. I assumed since the laptop is not supported in windows 11 maybe downgrading would fix it, but no. After ordering the new keyboard top assembly and replacing it, issue still remains, keyboard not being recognized. Tried formatting the laptop again and even downgraded to Win 10 S mode (Factory image). When running HP diags both keyboards work and pass all testing. As soon as it boots to windows keyboard and touch pad stop working. I reset BIOS even tried updating BIOS but never worked. Ended up returning laptop to customer unrepaired and RMA the part.

Just did another HP x360 laptop today with no issues so I am baffled.

Any ideas what is going on? Thanks.
