    Can anyone identify this mosfet?

I'm trying to fix this Dell 2205 AIO, the screen doesn't come on and I suspect the motherboard isn't supplying 12v to the inverter. Although I may be wrong.
What is TRF with a value of E and apparently the dot means its led free?
I also put a little schematic thing up, I don't know if it's helpful.

I posted this under Laptops, Portable, and Mobile Devices because of the external power brick and the motherboard felt more like a laptop one.

Re: Can anyone identify this mosfet?

It is a load switch mosfet used in video device where sensing signal is required

Google TRF mosfet you will find it at second page
Although it is TRF m p channel

    Onsemi.com make these

But they are two types p channel and n channel so check which one you have

P channel conducts drain to source but not backwards

N channel conducts source to drain but not backwards

    Three leg mosfet

If you have schematic , first check number on it motherboard starting Q and find it in schematic

Re: Can anyone identify this mosfet?

If n channel then mosfet conducts when gate valve is higher than source

        Vgs high= vg- Vs= 17-19= -2 wrong

How To Test a P-channel Trench Mosfet Using A Multimeter In Diode Mode
          by dj8452000
I am new to electronics and I'm understanding most of what I'm reading but I have a mosfet on my board that I've identified as a P-channel Trench Mosfet. I haven't a clue how to test this and what I should expect to see with the multimeter probes. I am hoping someone with years more experience than myself can help me understand how to use a multimeter to read this. Please look at the drawing I have attached to this and can you try to explain to me what I should be doing with my multimeter in diode mode and what results I should expect from a good mosfet?...

Ideapad 100 NM-A841, P channel mosfet on laptop in.
          by tmaster21
Hello guys. i'm having problems here with this lenovo 110 with board NM-A841 laptop. There is an P channel(pq302) and after it i start ,i have 19v but with time, it decreases or if i press "power on" switch or jumper j6 , it falls to 0 and back to 19v. There is no short and works good on battery, but won't charge or charge until the voltage drop like i explain after P mosfet.
Well i suspect that this mosfet is no good. if you look to skematic i have steady 19v on P2 but start to decrease on P3 like if the mosfet is dying . the gate of boot N an P mosfet are the same: is steady...

old X58 triple channel board... memtest86 memory speed?
          by eccerr0r
Anyone run memory speed tests with an old X58-based triple channel 1st gen or any other >2 channel board? The one I have is a Gigabyte I think.

Anyway I had four 4GB DDR3-1333 modules in the 6 memory slots and got around 11GB/sec memory speeds assuming that it went dual channel since it didn't have enough modules for triple channel. Now I stuck in two more 4GB modules, but they are DDR3-1600. I'm still getting 11GB/sec speeds according to memtest86...

Just wondering, anyone do memory speed analysis on these triple (and higher) channel memory boards? Are there any...

Can someone help identify this mosfet marked GAF ?
          by armands0212@gmail.com
This mosfet is from surface 2 go and if i try power it on this is only component what is heating.cant find schematics to identify this mosfet so maybe someone can help?
          Thanks...

          Reading N-Channel Mosfet Junctions (1N65)
          by Tarot Superstars
          Hi.
I have a Mosfet in a power adaptor circuit and I want to know what is the Gate, Drain and Source.
I have a data sheet and it shows which is the gate (#1) and I assume 2 and 3 are Drain and Source.

But when I read it with a multimeter I read that it's likely not that.
It seems to show that wire 3 is the gate and the other two are drain and source.
I want to know because I want to design tests on the mosfet to see if it is broken.

However, the gate of U1 (the pulse width modulator) is connected to wire 1 indicating it IS the gate...
