Re: Replacing a mosfet with the wrong mosfet!
Supplemental question, just out of curiosity.
Could I have 4 25Vds mosfets is a parallel configuration to equal one 100Vds one? or would running them in parallel reduce gate voltage preventing them from operating,
or allow too much current through?
If it's too complicated nvm :-)
Thanks again!

Re: Replacing a mosfet with the wrong mosfet!
Thank you very much for the quick replies!
Based on your answers I think I'll get a proper replacement!
Also I think I kind of answered my question in this electroboom video, explaining what happens when you put to much voltage through a capacitor

I am so glad I resisted the urge to just solder that bad boy and see what happens...Re: Replacing a mosfet with the wron...eplies! <br />

Replacing a mosfet with the wrong mosfet!
2Yeah, sure go for it!0%1Noooooo!0%1Good evening everyone!
I have a mosfet, this mosfet:

It seems dead, now I was wondering if I could replace it with this one:
https://datasheetspdf.com/pdf/564339/Alpha&OmegaSemiconductors/AOD452/1
My first impression is that one has 100V Drain-Source Voltage and the other 25Vds. However I was thinking since the 100V one is rated for 11A and the other 53A perhaps my old monitor wouldn't mind too much if I'd also slap some kind of heatsink on the 53A mosfet?. At...

Re: Can anyone identify this mosfet?
I also found the pdf but didn't understand what was going on, thanks for clearing up for me!

Can anyone identify this mosfet?
I'm trying to fix this Dell 2205 AIO, the screen doesn't come on and I suspect the motherboard isn't supplying 12v to the inverter. Although I may be wrong.
What is TRF with a value of E and apparently the dot means its led free?
I also put a little schematic thing up, I don't know if it's helpful.
I posted this under Laptops, Portable, and Mobile Devices because of the external power brick and the motherboard felt more like a laptop one....

Re: Is this Lenovo Super I/O chip dead?
Terribly sorry!
It's a Lenovo G50-45 Model: 80E3
The laptop is fully dead, no power, no charging. I took a multimeter and had a go at diagnosing the motherboard when I saw the Controller IC as you see it. And after furious googling I couldn't find a picture of a chip with similar damage, so I though I'd show the IC someone that might know what they are looking at :-)

Is this Lenovo Super I/O chip dead?
The laptop stopped working after the charging cable was accidentally dragged across the room! This resulted in the charging port getting torn apart and short circuiting.

The...
I got a new charging port but this did not fix the issue and as I was investigating the board I discovered the marks on the Super I/O chip. I wiped off what seemed to be a powdery substance that was exactly above where the marks are around the first 'o' in the lenovo logo on the chip

My question is this do I need to get a new SIO chip and try replacing it?
