Bios Problem with Asus K52F

Hi,

Have a little problem with my Asus K52F (with Win 10 x64 installed).

Yesterday I try to update the Bios with winflash, but a blue screen error is coming (Seems it an "isql" error, but not sure).

Since the computer start, but no boot...
It run : hear fan, and Optical "try to read DVD", led from "power button", HDD, and sometimes other, light up but screen stay black (I think i doesn't go until bios). then it stop and reboot, many times.

I try to download some bios in this forum for it, format an USB Key in fat32 (in my other computer with a linux OS), copy the file "as is", and press "home + ctrl" but with no result except the time before reboot seem "stopped" until I release the "combo buttons" (the usb is powered because the light flashing one time when start the computer).

I don't find any post with the exactly combo button or the procedure to "recover" the bios on this model.

Do you have any idea ? Do a USB bootable DOS ? Rename file ? Other ?

now you have to desolder the bios IC and reprogram it using an external programmer.

How to be sure that is only the solution ?

Because in some tutorial the procedure to recovery the bios is rename the file, but all file here have a different name, what is the good name, and the good format for the usb Key ?

Only Fat 32 ? or need DOS Bootable ? Or Fat 16 ?

And the name of the file ? K52F.bin ? K52F.BIN ? K52FAS.bin ? other thing ?

I would be sure I Have not an other solution before reflash with programmer because i don't have the material and no knowledge to do this...

It is possible that some bios recovery method works too. To do that, you should study bios recovery methods of Asus laptops from the net and try them out.

Yes, that is what I post here : I don't find anything for K52F, that is the reason why I need help from someone have any procedure who work on this model, or similar...

Looks like Windows said "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL", which is a sign of CPU instability. Possibly bad SMD caps. (if the code is 0x0000000A)

how can we find which SMD capacitor is defective or weak?

If the CPU SMD cap manufacturer, is NEC/Tokin, then they are automatically suspect!

If I understand what you say, that is my problem is caused by other thing that a bad bios ?
Can I change the CPU SMD ? And how to identify it on the motherboard ?

clearly its a bios problem like caspian said... try to connect an external monitor to your unit.. then power on..try to see if it can boot to external nonitor. if you can do so try to reflash you bios with new bios dump.. maybe the computer encounter an error on writing to the bios that render you with a brick laptop.. i have the same problem with lenovo laptop costumer tried to update the bios but the unit suddenly turn off in 35% update status.. then when he reboot it.. blank screen cpu fan spin.. hard drive makes the initial step noise... i only reflash it..

"IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" is also a problem of bad hard drive and bad memory.. it is short for blue screen of death..

Hi,

Connecting an external monitor not work.
I'll go to a specialist for the reflash bios/replacement EEPROM because i'm not too good for this.
