Hi,

Do some of you know if it's possible to swap a laptop LCD with another model number ?

For example: Samsung LTN173KT02-801 with Samsung a LTN173HT02

Damn it did not work.

The 40pin LVDS connector has not the same pin assignment than the orignale LCD screen.

I found out that the recommended LCD's are not compatible with my X770 laptop !?

I did some reverse engineering and traced all from the JLVDS mainboard connector to the 40pin LVDS connector and this is how they are assigned:

Firstly, the old and the new screen must be pin-compatible. Then, there are some other factors that have to be considered such as screen size and location of connector. For more info, read this page:

If the new screen is not pin-compatible, do not connect it to the laptop.

The LTN173HT02 is a 3D screen,there are some X770 models with one.The compatibility,the LVDS cable,header, motherboard revision or bios may be different though.

you should compare datasheets of the new and the old screens.

Theres one listed on aliexpress as LTN173HT02-C01 X01 for Toshiba Qosmio X770 X870 X775 .What part number is yours it seems theres 5 different ones - C01,D02,T01,T02,X01
