Lenovo G710 doesn't work on AC power, only on battery (DUMB02 board)

I have an issue with this board, apparently it fell off the table on the charging port while still connected to the charger. Customer replaced the charge port with cable and whole connector, yet the board still won't charge the battery or work on adapter power. Laptop works fine on charged battery (with or without adapter connected). When Laptop is connected to the adapter and I take out the battery, it actually switches to the adapter power and continues to work for about 2 seconds then shuts off and stays dead until I insert a battery again.

Adapter is not the issue there. It behaves the same way on my laboratory power supply. No current draw at all.

Connector center pin shows 1V when connected to the adapter.

3.3V and 5V coils are working when connected to adapter, there is power to the on button.

BQ737 was replaced with known good part
ACDET to this IC measures 2.8V, it has 19V power.
Passives around it seem right, although I don't know their design values.

Measured a bunch of mosfets, none of them seem to have shorts.

Having no schematic for this board makes it difficult to troubleshoot. Did somebody come across a similar issue?

You need to have the correct resistance to ground on the center pin, 550 ohms for a 90W AC adapter (assuming this is what this machines requires — confirm with what's written on the chassis). I'd try with another good AC adapter as using a lab power supply only confirms the DC-in power rail is not the issue but it cannot do anything about the center pin. (or you could wire your own resistor too…)

Tested with 3 good known original Lenovo adapters, one 65W and two 90W, and the Lab supply that always worked fine with every lenovo so far. The adapter for lab psu has 590 Ohm resistor in it. It powered countless lenovo laptops just fine before. Must be the mobo having an issue. Also confirmed that the charge port and cable is good, the resistance is sensed on the motherboard connector just fine when adapter is plugged in.

If the exact schematics file is not available, find the closest one among Lenovo schematics.

"3.3V and 5V coils are working when connected to adapter, there is power to the on button."
is it being tested with "adaptor only"?

Yes. This is adapter only. Everything seems to be fine but it just won't start up.

                Test results:

                pin 5 IOUT - 0V
                pin 7 ACOK - 0V
                pin 16 REGEN - 6V
                pin 8 & 9 SCL SDA - 3.3V

For ACOK for this MB architecture may be Logic Low that’s why 0V , and for IOUT & EC no Communication 0V this why no charging, that pin is connected to a Cap test if’s leaking or short

Pin 5 IOUT to ground is 100kOhm. Can't see any caps from that line.

                      Yes, BQ737-acok is logic low.

                        Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                        Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
                        by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                        by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...

Lenovo laptop board no External Display in BIOS
                        by arham
                        Hi,

Need a little help with this one. I have one board that I need to use for a project, no complete laptop, board only. Board model is LA-A321p, from a Lenovo M30-70.

After Windows boots, works fine, everything ok, but I can't seem to be able to get image in the HDMI before booting to Windows. I need to access the BIOS and I don't have an internal display.

I have a friend with a complete, same model, laptop and I have tried accessing BIOS hidden Advanced Setting and changed the Primary Display options and nothing works (IGFX, PEG, PCI and SG).

Physically bending the T-Con board creates horizontal dotted lines on OLED55CXPUA
                        by fredtred
                        Hello!
I have been trying to solve this issue the past 12 months to no avail. I have been a lurker here during that time but finally decided to post my problem and see if anybody knows a solution.

                        Problem
My tv (OLED55CXPUA) has an issue where it displays horizonal lines of dotted artifacts.

                        (See Attachment 1)

                        Self Diagnosing
After a very long troubleshooting period I traced the issue to the T-Con board. If I gently flexed/bend the board I could make the display go from GOOD to BAD and vice versa. I have ruled out the connectors/wires...
