    Dell Port replicator glitch/issue

I've been having some weird behavior with one of my laptops at work. Before you ask, our IT department doesn't do hardware much... hell I think I may know more than them on some things :p

Anyway, the laptop is a precision 7710 and I'm using a E series port replicator (USB3.0 version). The issue is that after a reboot or sitting for several hours, my 3rd monitor running off the display port just seems to loose signal and goes to sleep. Re-seating the laptop on the port replicator temporarily fixes the issue, only if I give enough time for the main display to reset after removal.

I have a spare port replicator, and swapping didn't help. As far as I know the dock connector is OK. I've also swapped display port cables, which also had no effect. My 2nd monitor on the DVI port always seems to work.

Weird Nvidia/Intel driver issue? As per the Nvidia control panel the monitor in question is running direct from the Nvidia chip (Quadro M3000M), while the other two (main display and 2nd monitor) are running off the Intel HD530. I'll see if I can nab a driver update.

Edit- I'm running windows 7 x64 Pro on this.

    Ideas?

Updated the Nvidia driver... 3rd display cut out in the middle of the install, was dead until I reseated after rebooting. We'll see if the new driver fixes it for good.

Did it again, no bueno. Not the Nvidia driver (unless this was broken in a prior version that hasn't been fixed).

Dell Latitude 5320 USB-C port issue
          by D3D_Tray
          Hey guys,

so my half-year out of warranty Dell Latitiude 5320 (19817-1 SOUTH PEAK 13 10L) w/ i5-1145G7 and 16GB just started to act weirdly...

The first/upper USB-C/TB port suddenly didn't accepted the charger every time and sometimes only a different one... or with a different cable but so far, the self-diagnostics didn't noticed anything so I suspected a dirty port.

Today however... it stopped completely to accept a charger, the second/bottom one however does and after a half an hour, I notice something getting hot under there... blazing hot!

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
          by rounin
          Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

          🛠 Original Issue
          The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

Dell Lattitude 7424 Broken USB-C Port
          by Calum McConnell
          Hello!
I run a dell rugged extreme as my main computer, and have linux installed. All is well! However, after plugging in a friends power adapter to test it (it turned out to be broken), my USB-C port has stopped working. This isn't the end of the world, since I can still charge with a good old-fashoned 19V barrel power, but I'd like to fix it.

The port shows up to the operating system, but does not provide power to devices plugged into it, nor can it receive power. I have tried cleaning it.

I strongly suspect that the physical port itself is damaged, and would...

Dell G3 17 3779 Weird power cycling and shutdown/restart issue
          by SuperJames
This one's a weird one, and still unsolved despite it having gone back to Dell once.

          Specs

i7-8750H, GTX 1060 Max Q, 500GB SSD & Seagate 7mm 1TB HDD. 17.3 IPS screen. This has the fingerprint reader in the power button.

          Backstory

I bought this from eBay, from a wallpapering shop. £650 in 2020 which was a good price considering it's a gaming laptop. Physically it's in perfect shape, apart from the hinge mounts on the palmrest failing in the time I've had it (I have a new palmrest for it). The usual thin plastic crap modern build quality!...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
          by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...
