HP Caps/Num Lock Blinking 3 Times

Has anyone had any experience with a HP Laptop that:

Powers on
Blank Screen (same on the external)
Caps/Num Lock blink 3 Times / stop for few seconds and repeat.
After a little while the fans speed up.

I have tried hard reset, changing the memory and removing all the detachable components.

As you can verify with google search this sequence should be memory issue.
If you tried to change the memory without result, first try the bios, even there is a code for this problem.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried different memory but the problem didn't go away. I think I am just going to replace the motherboard.

If I remember correctly, I have fixed HP-s with such fault by reprogramming bios IC.

Flashing the BIOS is definitely worth a try

Then why you posted here if you are not even willing to try. As other members have said, bios flash will solve your problem-there is great chance.

probably he doesn't have the knowledge or the equipment to do it, except some cases may not be possible through software

Equipment cost is around 10€ from Ebay.
