ok u wont belive this....... i put old mainboard on rework machine..... wanted to remove bga , reball mself and solder it back to see what was wrong....
gess what ?
at 190° bga moved strange when touching it..... i waited till 200° , then removed and.... no solder on pcb ball pads, and balls on bga intact.....
so in conclusion goldenchipset sent me a lead free bga sold as leaded....
total waste of time, money and gone crazy....Comment

such things make laptop repair one of the most time consuming jobs. My earning does not worth the time I spend, so that I can not repair an adequate number of laptops monthly. That is why I can not afford living expenses by laptop repair.Comment

These low-end machines are barely worth repairing at all anymore. I have earned a lot more from parting out one of those that I got partially broken (USB ports not working, shorted inside SoC) than I would get for actually repairing it and selling as good. today i got the new ram....... but still the second hand mainboard freeze. changed also wifi. so also mainboard + ram only freeze whele doing a memtest version 5.01 and pressing f2 for all core active. it freeze after few mins after memtest start, sometimes after 1.5 mins some after 5 mins, but alway freeze.
today was able to install a fresh copy of windows 10, installed office all was ok, but after some hours lcd turn off and was not able to make it go back on.
i guess also the second hand mainboard isnt compatible with windows 10 or is not in fully 100% working condition. got it from spiderx from ebay.
will u suggest to give it back to the seller for non working ?
damn have spent so much time on that garbage notebook.
tomorrow im going to rework the old board, to make at least pc booting then if it is ok i give it to customer as working otherwise i tell customer pc is not worth repair :|
never thought a notebook could be such bad....and in addition to that i got some bad china supplier experience.Comment

im getting 7.5 version and test again.
yes ram are crucial ddr3L 1600 single rank
i didnt give too much attention to memtest as it show unkown memory type and info, but windows freeze, and cant figure out why....
edit: boot was in lagacy and is running version 4.3 but looks like no freeze so far (15 mins running )
edit : put on uefi and is running fine, maybe as u say there was a problem with 5.01 since both 4.3 and 7.5 are running fine.
so problem must be some windows error, like i read somewhere that intel n2840 has problem with c state, but i cant disable them from bios.
edit: looking google, looks like in legacy some acer will freeze, so im going to install it i uefi and see if i can thow that notebook out of my house

Check the bios version, one of the bios fixes listed on the acer drivers site says:
"Fixed After Windows 8 shutdown and replace memory DIMM, the first S3 will be fail"
Whether its just a coincidence or bad luck i don`t know until you finish testing again with memtest and update the bios.Comment

Update:
ive downloaded a windows 10 64bit and made it into usb pen with rufus using mbr for uefi mode.
turned on pc, entered bios, set boot to uefi, set admin password, disabled secure boot, saved bios setting and reboot .
after reboot i started and installed windows 10. then enabled again secure boot. done a windows update to install all driver from windows update.
went on acer website and downloaded the txe driver (trusted execution engine= and installed them going from version 2.0 to 1.0 as the 2.0 it got from windows update give that driver a yellow !
from acer site ive downloaded the io , run application program and touchpad driver as it was not working.
installed first the quickstartup appplication, then the i/o ic driver and then the touchpad. touchpad now is back to working.
computer now run fine with no more crash and freeze.
i read on a site that without uefi, pc will freeze, graphics card will not work properly and touchpad will not work....
acer notebook are really that bad ?

on an asus i got black screen and find out it was a bad trackpad making it not posting:|

To ask here... I have few devices with white screen problem, actualy nokia 2220 and some fuji? camera, and try to understand what is common problem to cause that issue.
Yes, both devices work everything else probably ok, I mean, I hear intro melody and keypress click sound, DTMF tone, power on off... all ok.
On desk is nokia 2220 slide, and I check all screen connectors and components arround it, measure voltage drop, but all looks ok. I suspect on slide flex cable, but it look ok and white screen is not interupt while flexing board, pushing conectors, and sliding up down. In attachment... -
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
Another TV topic!!
I got this sharp TV that when I first plugged it in it showed the sharp logo and then went to the input screen. This was about 30 seconds and then it showed white screen. Now I can't see anything but white screen. This has a separate TCON and Main.
The TCON is getting 12V and several parts are as well but the VGH line is only .5Volts which I thought is totally incorrect.
Am I on the correct assumption that the TCON is bad somehow if I'm only getting that voltage or is there something else I should check?... -

I have a Dell G15 ryzen edition (ryzen 5) that turns on but won't post, black screen, keyboard lights on, caps lock led on, fans turns and the battery indicating light is showing 2amber and 1 white according to dell website it's a cpu failure, but i tried few basic things before i open it up i tested the screen by pressing the d button before powering it up but it didn't show anything i tried the ctrl+esc for bios recovery but still black screen i tried refreshing the screen, i plugged it on an external monitor but same thing. Hi all, I’ve got a problem I hope someone can help me fixi.
I have a Panasonic TX-48CX350B tv , it powers up ok but the screen is blank, the backlights are working, there’s nothing else though, no picture or sound. I’m not sure what the fault is called whether it’s BLANK/ BLACK/ or WHITE SCREEN I’ve actually came across this before on a similar tv but just ended up scrapping it, I will upload pictures of the boards etc , if anyone could help me I would really appreciate it...01-11-2025, 03:18 PM
