Question about MacBook Apple.

It's normal that MacBook without battery don't turn on?
If i put battery laptop turn on, if meanwhile is on i remove battery and use magsafe ac adapter it stay on.
But i want use MacBook only with ac adapter dont work.

N.B. battery charge is ok.

every mac that i have worked on, thats not a lot, maybe 10 would work without any battery
