Yes, this macbook is booting and works with the power adapter totaly normal but only when the battery is charged and above certain voltage. as soon as the battery loose power, the macbook does not boot any more and goes to the "Boot loop". (as I wrote at the begining: this model is powering up with a MegaSafe only whene there is a battery connected and this battery is not totaly empty. Whene the battery is goes low, I have to charge it for a short time outside the cover.
The MegaSafe turn on green and then goes orange as it should be.

Also resistance between CSIP and CSIN = 21,5 Ohm (no adapter and no battery connencted)
What should i measure at the ACOK?@Sephir0th:

@mon2,
at the schematics (see above) is writen that on the pin 2 (D7005) should be 18.5V but I messered only 12,3V is this OK?
With both the adapter & battery connected, what is the voltage to ground on the battery connector pins for:
SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SCL 3,11 V
SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SDA 3,04 V

What are the units of measurement? Is this kohms? If yes, then ok. Confirm it. Be sure the battery is not attached during these tests.
Yes, kOhm (see atached pic.)
Between pin 17 and 18 there are 3,8 Ohms. is this how it should be?
Seems a bit high. Touch your meter probes together. What is the resistance measurement?
0,001 kOhm on diode mode
00,7 Ohm at 200 Ohm mode
Next, place the probes across R7151 resistor and you should have ~2R2 ohms. Confirm it. Likewise for...

Hey and thank you for your answer.
4) What is the history of this unit? Just stopped charging? The fault may be due to the age of the battery and needs to be just replaced. Consider to source a compatible known good battery from Amazon for testing. You can always return it if it is not required.
One day I tryed to boot but its went in a boot loop (apple Logo agine and agine) and didnt boot. I opend the cover and I saw that the battery was bloated. I was reading at the web that at certain models, the mac will not boot if the battery is Bad.
I tryed 3 diffrent...

Apple macbook Pro Retina A1398 Battery not charging
Hallo everyone, my A1398 do not charging the battery and the battery also do not bin recognized. I did all the reset work, SMC reset and all the other reset options but nothing helped. on the SMC at pin 2 (DCIN) there are 20,4V coming in. at pin 16 (BGATE) which goes to the Q7155 Gate there are only 11,43V. at the pin 1,2 and 3 on the Q7155 (Source) there are 12,23V. Cap C7126 is not shorted. As I understand, the gate voltege have to by higher then the source voltege for the gate to clous so the battery can be charging, am I right? can someone help me with this? I guess that manny models are working...Last edited by fisha; 07-20-2024, 08:42 AM.
