Hi guys
I've got this faulty Samsung Galaxy J5. It has got some sort of corrosive fluid in it and having cleaned off the motherboard I can see it has corroded away a couple of surface mount resistors or caps near the battery connector, plus one of the pins on the battery connector itself
I can get a replacement motherboard for about £35 so that isn't a problem but there is also some corrosion on a couple of pins of the LCD screen connector on the flex cable.
Firstly does anyone have a pin-out for this connector - it could be some of the pins are duplicate 0V or supply connectors and I may be lucky.
Alternatively is there anyway to test the screen before ordering a motherboard? I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and looking at photos of replacement screens the connector looks like the one on the J5
Does anyone know if I can test the J5 screen using my S5 phone?
Cheers
Rich
