    Re: vertical lines on screen

Check with a lens the lcd flat cable , sometimes not fit well.
Another frequently issue is a very small crack on the lcd border

      Re: vertical lines on screen

ok i have checked the flat cable several times. i have re-seated the cable each time and it seems to be seated properly. there appears to be no damage to it. the lcd screen has no cracks on it. so the issue is something to do with the lcd screen or the ribbon cable?? its possible that the lcd is defective from person i bought the screen from.

        Re: vertical lines on screen

This type of lcd is very sensitive to shock when it's out of its cover but if you do not have another lcd cable the doubt remains , if you have so much patience you can test it with a multimeter. There is a cable connector on lcd side ?

                Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Thanks for offering your assistance with this. I'm an electronics enthusiast with moderate level of competence (have a decent lab with two power supplies, microscope, DSO, hot air, good iron, can competently work at a component level on SMDs, design and solder own PCBs etc). I really enjoying fixing things and learning new stuff so took up a free 58" LED TV and have been googling and watching Youtube videos to see if I can fix this! I am happy to go down to individual component replacement/strip replacement etc - it's all in the name of learning.

The issues are as follows: the...

Strange LG TV issue : Image vertical lines in black screen
                by Ancient1
                Hi

                Asking for a friend.

I'm used to black vertical line in otherwise good image - probable solution is a rubber to push and tighten the COFs bonding.
but here its the opposite !

TV has new T-con = same issue
A missing panel voltage would have global effect

So , what should one do ? how can I find where the fault is ?

                Thanks !...

Samsung LE32C530F1W with vertical lines on Screen
                by Kambi13
Hello all, I'm dealing with a Samsung LE32C530F1W that now has vertical lines on the right side. It started with a ghost image on the top of the screen and then I tried the old trick of masking a few contacts in the flat cable that connects the T-Con board to the screen with some tape. It worked for a while and now out of the blue it turned into what you can see in the pic. I was able to get my hands on a known good T-Con board but the problem still persists. Now, what I've noticed is that the cooper colored flat cables that are directly connected to the screen itself are very hot to the touch...

LCD SAMSUNG LE40A656A1CXXE - Vertical Lines on Half of The Screen?
                by ItalianSat
                Hello Everybody,

I have a 40 inch LCD SAMSUNG LE40A656A1CXXE. Its problem is that there are Vertical Lines on Right Half of The Screen.

Interestingly enough, when I move my mouse (in the case if connected to a PC) or when I am watching the TV, lines also move. At first appearance, I had thought that the problem might arose from loose vertical ribbons (COF), but when I opened up the TV for further investigations, I realized that the problem cannot be solved by touching them.

Moreover, I detached the T-CON board for a new round of investigation. I personally...
