    Macbook Pro A1398 Problems

Hi! I received an A1398 Macbook Pro and the simptom is that the screen turns off every once in a while...Sometimes it stays on for a long period of time in the OS...but if I run the onboard diagnostic utility, it turns of after about a minute...fans keep spinning. If i force turn it off, the screen doesn't turn on again for a few tries, then it Works again. I've tried running it with and without the battery, I've tried running only on battery...
It just happens so randomly I can't figure it out, could it be the SMC is going faulty? During the diagnostic tests, the screen always turns off During the First memory test, always. In the OS it's random...sometims happens when I close the Lid.
If anyone had somewhat of the same issue, could you point me in the right direction? Thanks

MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable
        by Stephen
MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable to reset the computer. I disconnect the battery fully and then reconnect it and it won't turn back on. After letting it sit for a day I plug the battery back up, and the MagSafe 3 cable and it powers on and stays ons, once I plug in a USB C cable into the port closes to the MagSafe port it turns off and the Amber light turns off and won't turn on. No water damage, nothing, I want to do a DFU restore to wipe the computer since the customer stated they did an update and ever since it just decided to not work...

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) A1398 heats up & turns off
        by mferna14
Hi all. I am working on MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) A1398 820-3332-A. There is no liquid spill & no physical damages on the logic board. The CPU/GPU heats sink heats up a lot & then turns off automatically. I did a re-solder job on the GPU VCORE chip U8900, but this did not help much & also updated the BIOS. Added brand new coolant compound but still the same, after about 1/2 hr, it heats up & then turns off automatically. Just asking anyone will the CPU & GPU BGA balls reflow will be suitable to rectify this problem. Any tips or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Apple macbook Pro Retina A1398 Battery not charging
        by fisha
Hallo everyone, my A1398 do not charging the battery and the battery also do not bin recognized. I did all the reset work, SMC reset and all the other reset options but nothing helped. on the SMC at pin 2 (DCIN) there are 20,4V coming in. at pin 16 (BGATE) which goes to the Q7155 Gate there are only 11,43V. at the pin 1,2 and 3 on the Q7155 (Source) there are 12,23V. Cap C7126 is not shorted. As I understand, the gate voltege have to by higher then the source voltege for the gate to clous so the battery can be charging, am I right? can someone help me with this? I guess that manny models are working...

Apple Macbook A1398 Turns off randomly
        by Eleways
        Hi,

        I have a problem on a Macbook A1398 with motherboard 820-3787-A.
It works fine, but sometimes it turns off.
I noticed that it happens more frequently with the battery plugged, so I changed the battery, but it does the same.
It also heats up a lot.

        Any suggestions?

        Thank you
