Also he has a fully working one that has a supervisor password too, but it didn't have BIOS problems so it just boots up into Windows.
I think that reflashing the BIOS activated this error.
And it's frustrating because I made the laptops turn on and function again...except the fact that it won't boot past that error because of the password prompt...and I'm stuck

Thanks for the reply! The problem is they are all with Supervisor passwords.
I can't enter the BIOS. And these things have all security details on another chip. The owner doesn't know the passwords, as he bought them off auction.
And because of this error it forces me to press F1 to go to BIOS settings and the Password Prompt pops up.
I'm trying to find a workaround that error so it can boot into it's own OS. And resetting the passwords is almost impossible on these models as only one Service can do it, and they charge...Leave a comment:

Need some info with Thinkpad T440
Hi, I received 3 T440 with their BIOS dead. Successfully reflashed them, they power on and everything.
Problem is I get a "bad crc in security settings in efi variable" and it forces me to enter BIOS setup. The owner doesn't know the Supervisor password because he bought them out of auction from a dead company.
I don't care about finding out the password...I just need help with bypassing that error so it can boot on it's own, into it's own operating system.
Did anyone manage to do something similar? If it's possible to make the laptops skip that error and just boot... -

Is there any possible way to clear a T440 password?
I've rewritten BIOS as the first step, found out it's actually stored on the MEC1633L chip.
Has anyone managed to unlock one? If so what tools did you use? Except swapping out the motherboard, of course. Thanks! -
Macbook Pro A1398 Problems
Hi! I received an A1398 Macbook Pro and the simptom is that the screen turns off every once in a while...Sometimes it stays on for a long period of time in the OS...but if I run the onboard diagnostic utility, it turns of after about a minute...fans keep spinning. If i force turn it off, the screen doesn't turn on again for a few tries, then it Works again. I've tried running it with and without the battery, I've tried running only on battery...
It just happens so randomly I can't figure it out, could it be the SMC is going faulty? During the diagnostic tests, the screen always turns off... -

I've tried flashing a Wistron MX25L6406 bios, now it doesn't power on at all. With the original Winbond W25Q64FV backup bios...the laptop turns on with 5 Beeps. Any other help would be appreciated.Leave a comment:

The motherboard code is 04Y2001. Or 554SE01521
