CQ61 no boot- Charge led off after seconds

    Hello,

One more thread for this board. Seeking a lot old threads. No help.

Bios already flashed with no result.

Board shut off almost immediately after button pressed.
When charger is plugged in the charge led is on for some seconds and then off.

    checked +3V_ALW +5V_ALW +12V_ALW all seems ok.
Also immediately after button pressed checked the other voltages and seems to work before shut down.

Only on PL7 there is no voltage. I can measure the battery's voltage when it is plugged in , but no increase when power button pressed. (logically this must be increased in order to charge the battery)

    AD_ID is 1.6v

Should i try another bios flash or it is an electrical fault?

This laptop model may be a CPU killer, especially the Athlon II model...

The one I was working on, didn't shut off when dead, but did slow a slow blink that appeared to be a code #1, for CPU failure...

I second that. Looks like faulty BIOS. Have had the same thing with this model.

            bios already flashed...

Used this file in this post:

            https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...69&postcount=9

I desolder the chip to verify again with the programmer.
After all these tests, it seems ok. Verify passes 100%

What's the voltage in BATCHG when the battery is plugged in ?

try to turn the laptop on without battery.
if it does not work, measure voltage on all pins of ISL6251A after pressing the power button.
