    Dell m5110 power issue

    I have done a lot of troubleshooting on this particular board but it is always getting me confused so I need help. The problem is that no power at all immediately you plug in the charger TPS51123 start to get hot. I have replaced it with a new one still same.
    this is some readings I did on the Tps51123 when charger is plugged in
    pin16 = vin=19.1v
    Pin8 = vreg3=0.983v
    pin17=vreg5=5.1v
    These pins also short to ground immediately charger is plugged in pin7=v02, pin24=v01, pin12=drvl2, and pin21=drvl1.
    I need help

          Re: Dell m5110 power issue

          find why is Vreg3 pulled low. maybe kbc is bad but u must find what pulling down 3D3V_AUX_S5. i see there are many things that could do it, like Q2703, Q2701 ...

          go one after another. if u cannot measure bad thing just go one by one and remove ics that could do that

          also that shorts on 3v and 5v sides must be rid off. check all 4 mosfets

            Dell Inspiron 7567 LA-D993P odd charger issue
            by Johndill
            Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 7567 LA-D993P that I've just got running.
            There was corrosion around PU1503 which shorted PC1518 & blew PL1504. (Reference pictures attached)
            I've replaced PC1518 & PL1504 & the laptop is now running however I now have another issue.

            Here are the tested scenarios:

            1. With the laptop running on battery, I plug in the 150W charger & the charger shuts off (no LED, protection mode) but the laptop remains running on battery.

            2. With the laptop off, plug in charger (LED says on) & the front charging...

            Dell G3 17 3779 Weird power cycling and shutdown/restart issue
            by SuperJames
            This one's a weird one, and still unsolved despite it having gone back to Dell once.

            Specs

            i7-8750H, GTX 1060 Max Q, 500GB SSD & Seagate 7mm 1TB HDD. 17.3 IPS screen. This has the fingerprint reader in the power button.

            Backstory

            I bought this from eBay, from a wallpapering shop. £650 in 2020 which was a good price considering it's a gaming laptop. Physically it's in perfect shape, apart from the hinge mounts on the palmrest failing in the time I've had it (I have a new palmrest for it). The usual thin plastic crap modern build quality!...

            Dead Dell Latitude 5420 not receiving 20 volts from USB-C charger
            by BTubbs200
            Hello,

            Dell Latitude 5420 P137G
            Board: LA-K491P REV A01

            I have received this laptop which was described as "does not power on or accept charge." Battery shows no sign of charging when charger is plugged in, nor does the board show any signs of life when battery is unplugged and charger is plugged in. No light from the LED at all or any other indications of activity.

            Board seems to have no shorts, all power rails are fine and show high resistance.

            When charger is plugged in, voltage is present in 3.3V rail but absent in others....

            Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
            by Bowline
            My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

            Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

            My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
            The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
            I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

            Dell Inspiron 3480 All in One corrupt Bios issue: reaches Dell logo and stops
            by computerbacon79
            The Dell Inspiron 3480 I own (the all in one, not the laptop) is not wanting to turn on at all. It goes right to a dell logo, but it stays there forever with no other information on the screen. Holding the automatic Bios repair key combo (ctrl+esc) that should let it read a recovery file off a USB drive gets stuck on a black screen and does nothing. No amount of resetting anything so far has worked, and Dell's own support downloads have not really helped. Ive tried another BIN file I found online using my CH341A, and this got me slightly more, that time it displayed a loading bar that never moved...
