BGA soldering pads - how do you repair them?

Does anyone have any experience with damaged BGA soldering pads?I mean the soldering pads on PCB.
I would guess that a thin( but how much thin ??) copper wire and a glue( but which one is the best) could help.

I desoldered CPU that has about 1000 pads and one pad was damaged( it is 1.2V core voltage).
I noticed that there are more pads with the same core voltage. Must be all 1.2V soldered or it is not so critical if one is not soldered?
Not sure if all 1.2V must be present.
    Thank you for your feedbacks

Good luck with that, its probably soldered between alot of layers impossible imo. Also there might be several pads for that voltage. Checked the schematic ?

Take a picture of the BGA area on the PCB

1, 2 or 3 pads with Luck may be strapped, but like reecey said, Good Luck is a must ...

I would say if there's already a decent number VCore pads you could try skipping this one. Especially if that's not the highest power rated CPU you can have on this package.

difficult job. There is repair wire in electronics parts shop. It is much thinner than wire wrap wire and is isolated (green). It is used for PCB repair and named as that.

you cant use copper for that, it will desolve into the solder.

                Hello,
When i have this kind of problems i use thin coper wire from desoldering braid. I make a small loop that i position where the pad was then i route the coper wire beetween other pads to the nearest point i can solder it to. I use UV PCB paint to isolate and in the same time to glue the coper wire to the pcb. Often i use a smaller ball for that particular pad. I had to use this method 3 times by now, the oldest being about 2,5 years ago, no problem untill now.

I belive there is a video on youtube that shows better what i tried to describe

                  Hello All,

tl;dr: minimal electronics experience and my first repair, lifted 8 pads off the laptop display LED controller board when attempting a connector replacement, options are attempting pad repair or jump wiring.

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
                  by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

Elitebook 840 G5 Bios Chip Soldering Question
                  by Azurain
                  Hi everyone,

I have an HP Elitebook 840 G5 that I am trying to get working again. I've removed the front bios chip (the 32mb one) and have run it through HP unlocker already. I've uploaded and verified the new bin, but am now experiencing an issue that has led me to believe I've been soldering the chip back to the motherboard incorrectly.

Essentially, after re-soldering the chip back into its place and reassembling the laptop, the charging light immediately flashes orange and white and then shifts to a solid white. The capslock and numlock lights blink seven times...

                  Sony OLED XBR-65A8G 4 flashes
                  by Glaval
Hello, my Aunt recently gave me her broken Sony XBR-65A8G OLED after getting a replacement. It had a 4x led flash error, a replacement T-con didn't fix the error but with helpful info from this forum I found one of the smd ceramic caps on the panel pcb (C575/C378) on a 24v line was shorted to ground. I removed that cap and the tv turned on without error. It still had a black screen with the original t-con back in it, once I put the replacement t-con in it finally had a picture. After doing a panel refresh it had a very good picture but with a few vertical lines for some scenes. For owners with...

Soldering qfn problem ; it don’t go flat
                  by corrize
Hello, I tryed to solder 3 qfn chips recently, and same problem : I press it hard and the chip stay in the air, there is a quarter of millimeter between board and chip, I don't see the sides pads of chip soldered to board and I guess the chip is not properly soldered (not tested).

I tryed with qfn 20 and 28, the same.

I start to solder with board pads tinned (lead solder wire), I place the chip without flux under but I put a little bit of flux at two sides of the chip to hold it in place.
After solder, I reflow (400 degree) while pressing chip, two times at...
