    Macbook mid-2012 Keyboard issue

I recently fixed a macbook pro 15, however, I am having some issues figuring out whats wrong with the keyboard.

I replaced the one it had in there since it was sticky and wasnt working. It was working with some keys, but only on startup.

Now with the new keyboard its doing the same thing. Only works on startup then it wont do anything. On startup if I press the caps lock it quickly goes off. (light on then off)

It seems like something is shorting it out. Anyone have any advice or experience something like this before?

(Side note: the trackpad isnt connected since I am waiting on a replacement).

I just got it working. I attached a separate trackpad(from a 13" mbp) and it works. I guess it was just because no trackpad was attached. Is that normal?

Once I attached it seems to be working fine.

I hink the internal USB hub is contained within the trackpad. That may explain a lot.

820-02020 Super Weird Issue: Keyboard Input Character Map "Wrong"?
            by ugamazing
So, I have a really bizarre issue that I'm struggling to identify the cause of. Working on an 820-02020 board with some bizarre keyboard/input-source character mapping. My suspicion is a possible damaged SPI ROM (U1970), perhaps, but I'm really not sure in this case:

            1. The issue is pretty weird, but when installing MacOS, I noticed my WiFi password did not work. I quickly realized the special characters (!@#$%^& etc) were not mapping correctly.

            2. I noticed the keyboard layout/input-source is defaulting to JAPANESE every single time I restore the board. I am not...

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
            by rounin
            Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

            🛠 Original Issue
            The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

Dell G15 5515 RGB Keyboard Not Detected (Compatible Keyboard, Possible BIOS/EC Issue?)
            by NotEnough
            Hi everyone,

I'm working on a Dell G15 5515 (Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3050 Ti) and recently installed a compatible 4-zone RGB keyboard and controller (for Dell G15 5510/5511/5515 models). While the keyboard functions for typing, the RGB lighting is not detected by Alienware Command Center (AWCC), which displays “No AlienFX devices found.”

            What I've Tried So Far:
            • Reseated the cables.
            • Reinstalled AWCC and AlienFX services.
            • Attempted BIOS downgrade but no improvement.
            • Inspected ribbon cables for damage.
