    ezp2010

    Hello Badcaps techs!
i come with a stupid problem.
Not a big problem but its unknown for me.

    So let me begin.
Yesterday i had a Hp 15 with no power nothing, no led , 0.

I desolder the bios read it and try to write it back. Nothing.

the ezp2010 can read every chip over 1mb but it can`t delete it.
2mb 4mb 8mb etc. it reads the chip but it can`t delete.

i`m installing on another notebook the device so i can take some picture and show you.
the 1MB chip tough it can read it delete it and write it back.

i do know the bios chips that i took down to test may be faulty but for frak sake i tested like 5 chips. i had 1 from a dv9000 with 1mb and it was ok because the board was massacre on bga chips.

the Question is did you had any problem like this? to delete and verify it came back the data(its like it was not deleted).

i`ll make some picture soon so i can show you.

the time tough for deleting a chip its almost equal like writing.

but with mine now its not even 1 sec(even lower) its like its doing a quick format not full format on a drive.

    Re: ezp2010

It looks like the chip is locked like those from HP with Bios and ME section etc.
They are also ignoring the write cycle. Does the programmer not come back with a error?

      get datasheets.
i'm not sure about serial flash, but a lot of parallel flash you can lock the sectors.
to unlock them you send unlock command or you put high voltage on one of the pins while erasing / writing.
so maybe serial flash supports sector locks?

        Re: ezp2010

i need to find a few good boards with bios chip over 1mb to confirm and see if it does the same.

2 weeks ago i reflash a hp 15 and a hp 17 and everything was ok.

i need to check the wires on the adapter because i had only problems from the first minute

        ty btw for the reply

so yes! all of he chips i had where dudu!

starting from TV satellite boxes, dell M series, some hp g6 series.

every single one i thing they are dead(can`t be delete) except for the dv9000 bios that work.

today i manage to fix a hp envy m6 and after i finish finding the short i took down the bios just to test the ezp2010 and the bios chip its 4mb and it work normally .

so i`m sorry for the trouble and maybe this will be a lesson for me about the bios chip even if its tv box LOL.

i need a new stash of chips

                    Re: ezp2010

those are all the chips i tested saturday and it made me think that the ezp its broken.

i can`t remember witch one its from where because it put them on a box.

i need to start recovering again a new stash of chips.

i got a lot of boards tough and i need other components to, but it takes alot of time to take them of, clean them and test them and label theeeeeeeeeeem.
omg i feel sick only when i`m thinking

I tested last night with a 4mb bios from envy m6 and it was ok

Maybe i was lucky with my soare stash of bios chips.

Bad luck maybe? And maybe thats why the boards ended up for spares.

Should have made some pics of the boards to see some pro techs(from london) what they did with those boards.

                          look at page 11.

The true benefit of our mistakes is that they make us progress!!!

I do believe in bad luck… but it makes much more sense to me you came across a serious bug with the ezp2010 software not being able to cope with WREN command (and probably AAI too)!

Btw, why are u still using ezp2010?
Spend less than 4€ and buy a ezp2014 chinese clone (without any fancy(?) box), aka 2014 Best Blackstone Tyrant Gold.

You can find it described here along with the link to the software.

You can buy it on eBay, here for example.

The software file is 391MB mainly because it comes along with too many firmware files for obsolete devices.
Deleting all that garbage reduces compressed file size to less than 3MB.
If having trouble pm me for the software.

I'm looking to upgrade several 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB for personal use. I am curious what the best practice and process is for sourcing new replacement chips, and what vendor(s) you guys prefer? Another question is, how do I find compatible chips and their corresponding part/model numbers? For example, in the 820-00850 schematic, the DDR chip U2600 model listed (EDFB232A1MA) corresponds to 1x32GB chip. Of course, I would need 4x8GB chips to replace the 4x2GB chips currently on the board. How do I find compatible 8GB chips? Is it as simple as searching "BGA178 8GB 2133"...

                                          Good day,

I have tried to remove BIOS supervisor password from Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1. Model number CF-33AENABTG, unfortunately I don't have any other info.

I read the BIOS using afuwin, edited it and tried to flash new edited BIOS using afuwin. Unsuccessfully. Afuwin showed "Error: Problem erasing flash." starting with 0x00040000 and stoped. Then I tried many other options to flash BIOS from Windows without any luck. Finally i rebooted the device - and no post. Afterwards I have read the corrupted bios chip (MX25L12873F) using EZP2010 programmer....

bug of the month: write caching setting for the hard drive in device manager
                                          by ChaosLegionnaire
i recently bought a new wd re4 2tb with 2014 datecodes. when i got around to testing it tho in victoria hd tester, the write speed was very slow at 14 mb/s with a 256 sector transfer size. when i increased the transfer size to 1024 sectors, the write speed increased slightly to 44 mb/s. read speeds and sector verify speeds were fine and at normal speeds.

so i just ass-u-med the drive's poor performance was due to it being an advanced format drive and i was using it on winxp. when i tried cloning my system disk to this wd re4 2tb drive and writing to it in linux, the write speed...

                                          Hi,
I asking for help on some new WSON8 256MB chips. Please share your experience. I faced error on some new chips on read, erase, write with different programmers. These new chips are not exist in any programmers database. (GD25B256D, XM25RH256, W25Q256JV so on.)
                                          I'm using RT809F V.5.0, EZP2023 Pro, CH341A Green

For the exact experience with GD25B256DYIG is RT809F erase the chip under 33sec. This kind of 256MB chip normal erase time is 70-120sec so I think not all the partitions are erased. If I do blank check or reread the buffer says FFFFFF but when I write the correct...

                                          Hello,

Here I have the mentioned tablet with motherboard s6000-mb-h401. The tablet won't turn on, no display, charging normally. I manage to connect to UART port and got this output when I try to start it:

                                          Code:
                                          [PWRAP] pwrap_init_preloader
                                          [PWRAP] pwrap_init
                                          [PWRAP] _pwrap_init_sidly [Read Test] pass,SIDLY=0 rdata=5AA5
                                          [PWRAP] _pwrap_init_sidly [Read Test] pass,SIDLY=1 rdata=5AA5
