power rail at Gpu shows a 3.6 ohms at coil PL9201 .
is this is correct or not.
I also want to open coil and give some other kind of load &chek voltage across coil pl9201.

I was thinking you should check pu4002 and pu4003, as well as any high drive mosfet in each regulator first.
do not forget dc connector should also be checked

I have disconnected gpu coil & given some load & found full board is on all coil showing power at the gpu coil showing around 18-19 volts & main board stays on .how can 18 volts come here.

          Re: Dell N5110 short

I generally solve shorting with the help of desktop power supply injecting low voltage high amper. The shorted part gets too hot or smokes.

                Fddizon you are correct. Thanks
                both the fets defective .
but i am unable to get same type & no fets
                so replaced with black fets.(FDS6676)
which are working fine and display also comming .They are not heating also
Is it advisable to use them .also attaching images of both sides.

i think they will work the same. if you can fit them without shorting that is fine...

NO THAT IS NOT FINE! IT LOOKS LIKE SHIT!

Hate this "gluers". Why dont u put in some other mosfet. its normal N-channel 30V 12A mosfet. IT IS IN EVERY NOTEBOOK w DDR2.

This i have just done for testing . how much it is heating.display comming or not.
If you dont like it why are u saying to use other mosfet from ram area DDR2 coz that will also be glued.
                        LOL

fot testing ok, not for using.
ddr2 ram area dont have that high current mosfets. its in cpu, vga or main power area

but when i give a closer look, i see that you have other package than regular mosfet

                            Hi !
Finally I go same component metal FETs replaced it was working
Fine. Every thing was fine kept in my rack. 2weeks Not yet delivered .
                            AGAIN .
for same set same problem .occurred adapter led turn off after inserting in laptop
Only one doubt is that .
The adapter power is varing for 19 to17volts slowly and again 19volts
                            will this cause short

I have a problem with my Dell N5110. this worked with External monitor fine. But Led working backlight only not any display on the screen. i checked LCD_VDD and is shown Power 0V. I found U4901 is faulty on this MB. Thereafter i tested with a jumber to pin 3 with pin 4. Display worked fine. i shut down the notebook. But unfortunately this jumber wire has touched with PR4002 ( DCBat out 18V ) after shut down the notebook. Now i changed blown fuse on the led screen and this notebook is giving 8 beep sounds ( Says No display attached. I try with the external also but same ). any one having idea ?
