Any ideas what kind of damage does a shorted processor do?

Got recently a new laptop motherboard, when I went to power it on after installing it, the motherboard would turn on and turns off immediately (restarting? power cycling?). Found out the processor was shorted.

So I was wondering which rail should I check? Any chance it fried the northbridge/southbridge? I will start working with it starting tomorrow, so I haven't even checked for schematics yet (can't recall model either).

Motherboard is 6050A2443401. I attached schematic.

I'm still not sure what kind of damage a shorted processor would have done. There are 6 pages just for the processor (15-20) in the schematic.

5V & 3V are present.

Symptom: All lights turn on and fan running too (1-2 seconds), then all off, then on, keeps going forever like that.
