    Dell XPS 15z does not charge

    Hello,

    I got another Dell XPS motherboard with charging problem.
    When I measure 3.3V and 5V these are not present when the charger plugged.
    Anyway the laptop turns on if you press the power button. I believe this is why it's not charging. What could be the problem? Bios?

      Hy , you can try a dump bios, but i`m not sure will resolve the charging problem.

      I think that the C.l. charging is the problme, possibly a voltage source.

          I changed the charger IC it's charging but really slowly.
          PL10 shows 15.3V without charger. With charger 15.8V. It should be above 16V I believe because the battery almost fully charged but anyway after an 1 hour charge it went from 91% to 95%. I checked everything around the charger circuit but I didn't find anything suspicious. Anyone?

              I checked the PL10 with scope and looks like both side is straight 15.7V. So PWM doesn't work. I replaced the chip again but I got the same result. I attached a pdf. The highlighted components are checked and those looks fine. What should I check? What could be the problem?

                  how old is the battery? do a dell diagnostic cd.

                              I would like to share my experience about charging issues with Dell power supplies with the tech community. I am working on a Dell Inspiron 5590, Mainboard 18778-1 with charging problems. The device can be switched on and works so far, only the message appears at startup:

                              Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and Type cannot be determined. The battery may not change. The System will adjust the performace to match the power available.

                              Hi, i have problem with dell E7440, battery is not charging. Idk all story. Original Dell Adapter broken up (its not give 19V) i guess first ac adapter broken up and it broken charging circuit in laptop. Laptop has clone battery (Green Cell)
