    Well bios is now unlocked the only thing locked is the harddisk it says sata port 0 st500lt012-1dg142 lock.

        When i try a few times i get service tag 9f6hsz1 and system disable d906bd4854fbb964

            that will need replacing.
            Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

                no, secure boot just locks Linux/BSD out of a laptop. in essence what it is securing is money for M$, because its very easy to pull a privilege escalation attack on WIN8(.1) through it.

                    Ok will replace hard seems like a waste of 500g hard drive but will replace.thanks for all help.

                        there is a way, but its stupid complicated. and i don't trust used HDDs in laptops anyway.

                            [REQUEST] ASUS TUF A15 FA506NF (2021) - Clean BIOS dump needed (UEFI Password locked)

                            Hey guys, I have an "ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA506NF (2021)" that's locked with a UEFI password, I need to reprogram the BIOS chip but can't find a clean ".bin" file for this specific model, I've tried the official BIOS updates from ASUS support page, but they're 32MB updaters that don't extract to a usable 2MB .bin file for direct chip programming.

                            What I currently have available:
                            - Model: FA506NF (2021)
                            - BIOS chip: GD25LQ16 (16Mbit/2MB)
                            - Tools: CH341A programmer ready to use

                            Does anyone have either a clean 2MB .bin dump of this model,...

                            Hello,

                            I have a 2022 Asus Tuf A15 that I haven’t used in almost a year, but I went to boot it up to install some new games and all I get is the black “enter password” screen. I don’t remember ever setting a password, and none of my regular passwords work. I can’t log into Windows at all. I called Asus and their only option is to send it in and pay $80 before they’ll even tell me how much it’ll cost to reset/erase the password. I would love not to have to do that, do I have any other options? Thank you in advance.

                            Hello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.

                            My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).

                            Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....

                            This sums up discussion related to Lenovo P14s Gen5 in this thread. Credits go to Sbaro and especially Maxpower3. The locked dump is attached.

                            The device is based on NM-F871 motherboard with Nuvoton NPCK397 series controller. The motherboard also contains three BIOS chips: two different Winbond chips for main BIOS and external EC flash, and also a Gigadevice chip which purpose I do not know. The password information is contained directly in controller and thus can be manipulated by reprogramming it, so reprogramming BIOS chips is technically not required, however you may wish to make...

                            Hi everyone, I have a HP EliteBook 755 G4 with a Biuos password.

                            I've read the 16MB chip and patched using ​RCUnlocker_v_1_0 but seems it didnt worked, password is still there.
                            Can you please help to remove the password?
                            after first boot, there was an message thet firmware is restored, dont know if was suppose to happen.
