Asus Tuf A15 FA507RE Bios Password Locked

    Hello,

I have a 2022 Asus Tuf A15 that I haven’t used in almost a year, but I went to boot it up to install some new games and all I get is the black “enter password” screen. I don’t remember ever setting a password, and none of my regular passwords work. I can’t log into Windows at all. I called Asus and their only option is to send it in and pay $80 before they’ll even tell me how much it’ll cost to reset/erase the password. I would love not to have to do that, do I have any other options? Thank you in advance.

Cheapest programmer is the CH341A, you also need 1.8V adapter and WSON8 8x6 probe adapter if you can't desolder the BIOS chip (and it's on a complicated spot to desolder with hot air, without melting RAM and M.2 sockets)
Don't use a SOIC8/SOP8 clip which usually comes with a CH341A kit, it won't work on this BIOS chip (WSON8 8x6), and may cause damage to the chip itself or nearby components in the board
BIOS chip is 1.8V, the programmer has to support 1.8V SPI flash chips

        Something like this:
        CH341A kit with 1.8V adapter: https://www.amazon.com/MTDELE-Progra...dp/B0DC9Q7BC8/
Or this version which has 1.8V support built in (has a switch for voltage selection): https://www.amazon.com/Programmer-Co.../dp/B0D9XQ4YBV
        WSON8 probe: https://www.amazon.com/TTTLLNN-Probe.../dp/B0DYNZ6XL5
You can find similar items on Aliexpress cheaper if you don't mind shipping from China

Or you can find a local laptop repair shop which has the proper tools, what needs to be done is:
        - Read the BIOS chip
        - Clear the password on the BIOS dump with a hex editor
        - Flash the modified BIOS back, password should be gone

ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI - BIOS Help
          by grimacelord
          Hello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
          by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

          ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
          by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
          Some issues
          A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

          Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

          TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" Bios Password Problem?
          by traxformania
          Hello,

I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).

But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.

I'm trying to reset my bios without success.

          I tried :

-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries...
