Hello, can anyone tell me where I can get this 26-pin FPC connector? What is the connector for?So that one's also for the Touch Bar. I thought only the FPC at the top was for the Touch Bar. But where can I get it? I can't find the connector online. I only found the 22nd pin. Thank you.

The Touchbars (aka DFR) consist of 2 components, the CTP (capacitance touch panel) and the MIPI DSI interface.
As expected, each is a custom part made for Apple. Of course available in Asia with a few creative search keywords.
The part # for the 26 pin connector is DF40SG(1.5)-26DS-0.4V = J5110. Best to request the 'J5110 connector for A1990' when chatting with suppliers in Asia.
For the touch component, it is AA07-S022VA1 = J5100.

We will be in Asia in October and determined to find a lower cost option for these parts. Confident they exist.Comment

We did manage to setup an account with Taobao. Was not simple to do but succeeded after following a few YT videos.
From the published price, the connector is ~$1 USD which is fair for low qty purchases.
The trick to Taobao app is to select Singapore as the country to deliver and then the app will be all English. Find and fill you cart and before checking out, switch to Chinese again but with your real address for shipping. We did this earlier this year on some development tools which are only available on this portal.

Yes. You still register the app with your true delivery address but to view in English you must temp switch to Singapore. They are testing the same app in English but only if you select Singapore. Watch the above video on the full process. Then you add to your cart in English and then before paying, switch back to your home country and the shipping fee will be for your true delivery address. Very similar to Aliexpress.Comment

What about this listing on Ali?

Failing that, steal it off a donor board. Should be plenty of dead A1990/A2141 boards floating around with dead SSD'sComment

by bussincapsHello All,
tl;dr: minimal electronics experience and my first repair, lifted 8 pads off the laptop display LED controller board when attempting a connector replacement, options are attempting pad repair or jump wiring.

Hi, I found short on one of 6 black nand (total 1TB).
i removed all 6 nand ( voltages all ok) and now i want to program with JC P15 but for A1990 2019 there is only 512GB configuration.
I try A2141 1TB configurazion with TSB4228 but the position on pcb is different ( U9300 and U9400 is no stuff on A1990 but present on A2141 and U8800 and U8900 is no stuff on A2141 but present on A1990 )
macbook with A2141 configuration run on recovery but don't complete it.

by HaukeHi, I am asking for a little troubleshooting advice.
The laptop seems to boot up fine. Caps lock is working, the touch pad has haptic feedback, and even the "charger plugged"-sound is present.
Power consumption is about 15-30W at boot and idles at about 20W.
Unfortunately, the display and the touch bar are completely black (No signal and no backlight).
I don't get a signal on an external USB-C display either. Also not in safe mode.
I noticed that only the left fan (from the bottom side, hinge on top) seems to spin up. I think...Yesterday, 04:04 AM -
by DATATECH85Hello,
I am currently working on a Macbook Pro A1990 (motherboard 820-01041) which is not charging.
The Macbook consumes 5V and 0.019A at USB-C. There seems to be a partial short-circuit on the PPBUS_G3H rail as I have 0V on this rail.
I've physically separated (by removing F7000 and F7001) PPBUS_G3H and the ISL9240 charging chip to see which side the short is coming from. Removing these fuses gives me 12.6V at the output of the ISL chip (PPVBAT_G3H_CHGR_REG).
However, I can't work out exactly why I don't have the PPBUS_G3H rail.
Here are the values... - Loading...
