• Re: Samsung UE55KS8090 - Mainboard replacement failed

Yes, I was too fast. I didn´t see that those passives were missing..

Is there an other way to get the output of my TV on a second TV? What happens if I connect two TVs with the one connect cable?...

Because the One Connect Box has just 4 HDMI, 2 USB, SAT and Optical Audio. This is my box: https://shock-store.de/multimedia/3105/original-samsung-one-connect-box-bn91-17814c

Ok I will try out all variations.

Edit: I attached a photo of my one connect box pcb.
It looks like there are 2 connectors "missing" which could be the ones for analog video.

Edit 2: Sorry for multiple editing. I checked another samsung UHD mainboard and these are really the analog...

• Re: Samsung UE55KS8090 - Mainboard replacement failed

I really can´t find any component/av inputs. There is no yellow or blue connector on the mainboard. In the user manual is written: "Connecting via a component cable (only models with COMPONENT IN /AV IN)". It seems my one is one without those inputs.

I got the Firmware from russian website which links seem to be blocked here. dump/crt_tv/samsung_ue55ks8000l_shassi_main_board_bn41_02504a_jazz_m_usit/102-1-0-63971

The only thing I can find is labeled "EXT-Link", but I think this is a serial connection.
After some time googling, I am pretty sure that there is no analog video input at this TV.

I will search for it. The only thing I found until now was the panel selection menü.

I never heard of something like this. This sounds awesome.
I checked the one connect box and the mainboard - I can´t find any scart output. Is there an other way to get the video output?...

• Re: Samsung UE55KS8090 - Mainboard replacement failed

Thank you nomoresonys! I managed to do a factory reset. I pressed INFO -> MENU -> MUTE -> POWER. After the TV booted completely I pressed OK several times to select the factory reset.

Now the TV starts with the initialization sounds, but the screen is dark. The backlight is alright.
At this site I found some pictures of the service menu: https://forum.samygo.tv/viewtopic.php?f=94&t=10732
There are some configurations about LVDS, T-CON and Panel available in the service menu....

I don´t really know. The mainboard from the TV with broken panel also creates vertical colored lines in my TV.

Yes, but the mainboard of the 55" TV with broken panel does also not work in my TV.

After reflashing all EEPROM and Flash ICs on my original mainboard it starts. Now I can hear the starting sound and the backlight comes up. But the panel stays black....

Ok, ich checked the panel taps. They looked good.

I got a little deeper into troubleshooting. I bought a UE55KS9090 with a broken panel really cheap. I read, that the only difference between my model and this broken unit is the curved frame.

I took out the mainboard and put it into my TV. I got these colored lines again.
Then I put my replacement mainboard in the TV with broken panel and now this unit displays colored vertical lines too. After putting in the original mainboard the screen was normal...

I checked the CPU chips. Maybe you are right.
Both boards use "SDP1501 Jazz-M" chips, but the the original mainboard has a "S4B4PL S1622" and the new board has a "S5K56QD S1730".
I will try to find the datasheet and look what these numbers mean....

• Re: Samsung UE55KS8090 - Mainboard replacement failed

@Moreno83: Oh no, that would be very sad..
There is no real T-Con board like it is in other TVs.

I asked the seller of the new mainboard and he said, that he also wanted to repair his 55" TV with this mainboard. He told me, that he had vertical bars, too. He thought his panel was dead and so he sold the mainboard.

Maybe the "new" mainboard is defective? Could this really be caused by a bad mainboard with integrated t-con? If yes I would try to buy a brand new mainboard for about...

I bought it as defect. The owner said the TV suddenly won't start anymore.

It tried to start without showing any picture and then shut down and tried starting again. There was no difference if the one connect box was connected or not. And there was no sound.

Edit: I added some pictures....

• Samsung UE55KS8090 - Mainboard replacement failed

Hello guys,

I bought this awesome 55" Samsung TV. The problem was, that it tried to start but did this indefinitely.

I found a relatively cheap mainboard from a 65" KS8090 with broken panel and bought it. It is mechanically identical.
After mainboard replacement the TV started again. I was able to pair the smart remote and I could hear sound.

The problem is, that the TV does not show the right image. It only shows vertical colored bars.
The colored bars change with the content that should be displaced on the screen.
Sometimes...

• Re: Delta ADP-310AF No Power and frequently chirping

The two main caps seem to be ok.
Now the psu doesn't try to start at all. I don't really know why.

At the mains input. I placed a 220uF cap in parallel so that the voltage doesn't drop that much. I think the noise got more silent, but it did not solve the problem.

• Re: Delta ADP-310AF No Power and frequently chirping

I replaced the electrolytic caps, but the problem is still the same.
I found out, that the DC voltage directly at the rectifier breaks down at the moment of "chirping". When the psu randomly starts working and I can hear the continuous noise, the voltage at the rectifier is constant.

Has anyone an idea what the coil in the middle left is for? I think it is switched by the transistor in the middle and this is where the noise comes from.

• Re: Delta ADP-310AF No Power and frequently chirping

Ok, I will desolder the caps and check their current leakage. What would be an acceptable value?

The supply voltage at the 2 ICs on the primary side is bouncing too. Its between 6V and 14V.

The rectified supply voltage is relatively stable between 360V and 370V...

• Re: Delta ADP-310AF No Power and frequently chirping

Thanks for your answer. I checked the waveform at the electrolytic capacitors.
I get a fast rising edge when the psu "chirps" which drops like a normal capacitor discharging curve until the next "chirp" charges the capacitor again.
I search for any other ripple now.

After I accidentally blew up my first scope I built myself an isolation transformer

• Delta ADP-310AF No Power and frequently chirping

Hey guys,
I have got this iMac 2011 power supply which doesn't provide any voltage. It is repeatedly chirping about every 2 seconds.

I already checked the most common parts but did not find any bad component.

The weird thing is, as I was checking the PSU with my oscilloscope, the PSU suddenly started! The chirping was now continuous, but I got 12V on the secondary side.
This brings me to the idea, that this problem has to be with some passive component? I was told, that the iMac won't start anymore, but very rarely it started.

Does anyone...

• Re: Sony KDL-65W855C blinking 6 times - service manual?

I swapped the two pins on the LED Strip connector.

Now the other channel of the LED Driver rises up to 296V.
I think now It is clear, that the error is in one LED Strip.
I will keep you updated, if you want....

• Re: Sony KDL-65W855C blinking 6 times - service manual?

I did some basic measurement now:

The TV has 2 connectors on the PSU for the LED backlight. They are rated for: 173.6V - 250.3V at 740 mA.

I measured them with an oscilloscope at the moment of the short backlight flashing. One rised up to 203V and the second rised up to 296V. After that the PSU shuts down.

So I think one LED strip is damaged. I will check this now....
