What does the BIOS report when you attach the power adapter (and battery)?

Measure the voltage to ground of PL4 - used by the PSID signal from the power adapter. This 1-wire communiction line must be working to identify the power rating of the adapter.

On the charger IC (PU700), measure the voltage to ground of:

(remove the battery but connect the power adapter)

    ACOK ; pin 5
    ACDET ; pin 6
    VCC ; pin 20
    REGN ; pin 16

No problem. Yes, please carefully measure the requested voltages. The VCC pin is a critical one and is based on the dual diode. This part will power through power adapter OR battery - whichever voltage is higher. Sometimes, this part becomes defective and raises similar issues.

Can you double check this measurement? It should be ~6 volts.

                Ok.

From post #2 - when you connect the battery AND the power adapter, the laptop boots so check the BIOS to confirm the power rating of the attached power adapter. If the power adapter rating is not correct, then the issue is with the PSID communication line which is the 1-wire interface to extract the details of the external power adapter. This line must work else the power adapter will not be detected and/or not be detected correctly and then battery charging will stop AND the CPU will be throttled (slow down).

Share the voltage to ground of:

                Charger IC PU700

                ACP ; pin 2
                ACN ; pin 1

                SRN ; pin 12
                SRP ; pin 13

                source (1-2-3)
                gate (4)
                drain (5-6-7-8)

                on PQ700 DCin mosfet.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                  by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Dell Latitude 7420, 7320 voltage changed
                  by Ferimonka
                  Hi there,

I got 2 Dell laptops with a locked bios (dell management protection).
When I sent the dumps to this forum I got unlocked .bin files.

The issue I am getting the voltage on the bios chip pins has changed once I soldered the chip back (with the unlocked even original bios file) and doesn't turn on anymore.

Before I started to re-program the chip the voltage on the pins were 3.3V almost on each pin. Once I soldered the chip, voltage changed to 1.9V or 1.3V on few pins. No 3.3V anymore.

I appreciate any help to get me this...

                  Looking for Dell Latitude 5520 / 5530 / 5540 RJ45 network connector replacement
                  by diamon
I have a Dell Latitude 5530 with a damaged RJ45 network connector. See the attached pictures.

Have already searched on Farnell / Aliexpress / Ebay and had contact with several suppliers on Aliexpress and Ebay, but they cannot deliver this connector.
Is there someone inside the EU, who has these connector(s) or perhaps defective motherboard(s) for these laptop models I have mentioned in the topic title.

                  Dell 5410 greyed out BT
                  by OntarioTL
Well I've learned something new today. Of all the Dell laptops I've come across I have never seen bluetooth greyed out, and only to learn this is during the build from Dell factory. I've tried to pull the original BIOS and fix with another dell with the same issue on the forums, however the original was not recovered from the forum upgrade so I cannot do a comparison to attempt the fix on my own.

If someone could help me out with this unit and I'll try the next one as so far I have 2 on my desk with this issue. Thanks in advance!

Dell G5 SE 5505 - "Invalid memory installed" after BIOS update.
                  by lalle-
                  Hello!

I have a problem with a Dell G5 SE 5505 laptop that I hope someone can give me a few pointers on.
[OK, it's not really a laptop, I'm running the motherboard on my desktop with only cooling, RAM and an M2 drive attached.]
I had some performance issues, so I decided to update my BIOS from 1.7.0 to the latest version, 1.20.0.
The computer restarted and the update dit not want to continue without a battery connected, even though I used dell's method of bypassing this requirement.
I tried updating to a custom BIOS from Reddit user Satori_Nori https://www...
