Would you have test tools like a multimeter? Start with a known good power adapter. If the power adapter is not working, you will see this fault.
Orange light means the battery is weak and is not charging.
If necessary, you can measure the power path from the external power adapter to the charger IC to determine if there is a fault there. If the power adapter is OK, then other tests needs to be made. -
Thanks, I will try and test the power adapter using multimeter, though before now my brother got the same lenovo so when mine didn't come up I used his own to charge my battery the battery is now 100% charged to ruled out issues of battery and charger.Comment

by GabrielS24Hello! I'm here to look for solutions to reset the EEPROM memory of a Lenovo E540 battery of 62Wh and 540mAh. I even bought a new one on the market (aftermarket BTIBM30) because I couldn't find an original one but it doesn't work. The laptop sees the percentage but blocks the battery charging probably because of the Chinese BMS. In the bios I don't have an option for the battery and I didn't find an older version (v1.57). I replaced the Lenovo BMS with Chinese cells but in windows it doesn't read the battery percentage and says it needs to be changed. I have 12v between D and the red wire....

Hi guys. I've used the forum a lot but never asked questions before. I had a Lenovo come in that was shorted on the 20V rail. I fixed that and thought my job was done until I realized it wasn't charging the battery. Here is what I've checked so far
On the BQ24780SRUYR charging ic
VCC 20V
SMBUS lines
SDA 3.3V
SCL 3.3V
Current Sensing lines
ACP/ACN 2.3 ohms
SRP/SRN 21.2 ohms
REGEN line 6V
PHASE .84V with no battery installed(this may be normal)

by code shareHi everyone,
I'm having an issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad P43s. The laptop does not power on when the internal battery is connected, but it works fine on AC power alone (battery disconnected). Once the battery is reconnected, the system becomes completely unresponsive — no lights, no fan spin, nothing.
Here's what I've tried so far:- Power/EC reset (held power button for 60 seconds with battery and AC disconnected)
- Booted successfully on AC power only with the battery disconnected
- Visual inspection of the battery — no swelling, burn marks, or connector damage

by ZixuTechHi Guys, a weird case here.
This laptop came with damaged hinges, but no liquid signs.
It will loop between battery charging/not charging/charging/... Now the original battery is completely drained it won't turn on with it. The orange light keeps blinking nonstop.
I have replaced the battery with a newly charged battery and it turns on but doesn't charge. The orange charging light blinks three times indicating charging issues.
I have replaced bq24780S battery charging chip, no difference.
With a connected new battery,... - Loading...
