    Surface Pro 7+ battery dead

Hey guys, I had a surface 7+ pro come in for a cracked screen that held a charge. After replacing the screen the battery refuses to charge. I tried to use a dc supply to wake the battery up but it takes no current at all. Tablet is working fine on charger / usb c. The only thing I can think is the heat from the hot plate did something to the battery during the screen removal.

Rule out the battery by sourcing another from Mobile Sentrix or Amazon.

Yeah, it was the battery, interestingly Sentrix was out of the battery. My guess is I had used a new hot plate to remove the screen and it killed the battery, had it on 80° C.

Good stuff. Thanks for the update.

On the removal, try dipping your plastic cards / plastic tools into a bit of alcohol while carving out the lcd. It helps a great deal to dissolve the glue. We do this for the imacs with the glued screen and their wheel tool. Expedites the process.
