Hey guys, I had a surface 7+ pro come in for a cracked screen that held a charge. After replacing the screen the battery refuses to charge. I tried to use a dc supply to wake the battery up but it takes no current at all. Tablet is working fine on charger / usb c. The only thing I can think is the heat from the hot plate did something to the battery during the screen removal.

Rule out the battery by sourcing another from Mobile Sentrix or Amazon. -
Yeah, it was the battery, interestingly Sentrix was out of the battery. My guess is I had used a new hot plate to remove the screen and it killed the battery, had it on 80° C.Originally posted by mon2 View Post

Good stuff. Thanks for the update.
On the removal, try dipping your plastic cards / plastic tools into a bit of alcohol while carving out the lcd. It helps a great deal to dissolve the glue. We do this for the imacs with the glued screen and their wheel tool. Expedites the process.Comment
