Where do you guys buy your 4407?

Simple question looking for a good parts distributor in uk for laptop repairs. As ill be doing a lot of these.

At the moment im looking for 2 x 4407.

ive checked out ebay, but they are 5 pounds for 2.

is that right, it seem extraordinarily expensive

IF you are talking about the AO4407
they are 70cents a piece in the US

personally i dont care much for chasing down specific fets.
i just use datasheets to find superior replacements i can get from farnell

Yeah...You need to do bigger order...otherwise 12 quid for shipping but ussually got it within 3days (from States to UK)...that's callled mad shipping management by UPS, lol...also getting SPI's from them...is farnell actually shipping from UK?

If you go in to repairing motherboards I'll suggest to buy a job lot from flebay.
Just once because when you start repairing they will pile up along.

I saw many base from dell with the motherboard inside.
I will take a look if I where you.

i have hard time reading the datasheets, i know that rds whatever that is and capacitance has to be lower everything else higher.

Thanks again. if anyone knows a good post to read regarding reading these datasheets and identifying the right details would be helpfull. thanks

4407 handles twice the wattage - probably better heatsinking.

other than that, the 4413 looks better.
it has a lower on-resistance, so it should generate less heat.

i say give it a try if you have them.

looks to me like they are both rated at 3.1watts max and the 4413 is rated at 3 amps more and both are 30 volts max
so, my question to stj, is what am I missing that has you saying the 4407 will handle twice the wattage ?

4407 says 3.1w at 25'
4413 says 3w at 25' for 10seconds, or 1.5w at 25' continuous.

soo - anybody's guess really - the 4407 datasheet makes no mention of it it is continuous or pulsed.

hmm.
the 4407 made by diodes inc says 1.45w
so the 3w from alpha&omega must be peak.

i'd say they are a good match.

I was comparing the alpha&omega AO4407 to the alpha&omega AO4413
I did not notice that they were trying to use the Vishay SI4413
that vishay SI4413 looks a bit low
the SI4425 might be better ??
