    Inspiron 1545 plugged in not charging

    Hi, dell inspiron 1545 plugged in not charging problem. i have used orginal adapter and battery. I have changed charging ic max8731 but problem not solved. max8731 input
    PIN 22 DCIN=19v
    pin 2 ACIN= 2.09v
    pin 11 vdd=3.3v
    PIN 9, 10 SDA SCL=3.3v
    pin 21 LDO=5v
    PIN 26 VCC=5v
    I dont know whats problem. Please help me for finding whatts problem.

      U45 Pin 5,6,7,8=19v
      When plugged adapter and battery
      pin 1,2,3=14v
      pin 4=13.57v

      u44 pin 5 6 7 8=14v
      pin 1 2 3=0v
      pin 4=0v

        what does it say in the bios about your charger?

          should be charging as you have 14v check the bios as stj has adviced

            when adapter is not cconnect this 14v also available. bios didn't show any charger related message. another cause may be u44 gate is 0v. but I have changed chargoing chip.

              I had one of these with this issue and the problem was on the motherboard on the side that the subboard plug is on.
              two of a group of 3 sot23 transistors were bad. Q6 or Q7 seems to ring a bell ??
              If you trace the center pin of the adapter, you'll be able to track this area down.

              This may not be a common area of issues, since I f I recall , the jack on that one was broken and the damage may have been caused by that.
              But , it might be worth a look see.
