Ideapad s145-15api charging indicator LED is ON and windows shows charging (plugged in) even I have unplugged the cable

    Hello.

i have this problem with a lenovo ideapade s145-15api.
The charging led stays on even when the charger is unplugged. Also in windows it shows that is charging.

    Do you have any idea?

Yes, have seen this issue with other laptops. Remove all power. Meter in diode mode. Review the dual diode @ PD201. Test in diode mode; red meter lead on anode; black to cathode - the meter should conduct. Reverse the meter leads and the meter should block else is defective.

Disconnect the power adapter. Connect only the battery. Carefully, measure the voltage to ground of each pin on the charger IC.

Post the list of the measurements along with their pin # and the pin function name.

Also interested in the voltage on each pin of the same dual diode when using only the battery.

          Last update.

          i change the charging chip.

Now the problem is that is not charging the battery.

Review the 2nd DCin mosfet since ACDRV should be ~25v and often, the 2nd DCin mosfet causes this fault of a low gate voltage.

If required, will need more measurements but for now, review / replace the 2nd dcin mosfet.

            2nd DCin mosfet = PQ202.

            1st DCin mosfet = PQ201.

              Hello again.

I change the mosfet and the measurement is again 20.4 at ACDRV

PQ201 is at fault not PQ202.
