    Hp dv5 amd sometimes shutdown

    Hi,

I have a HP DV5 AMD. Problem is that sometimes (1 times each 1 runs) it shutdown after 5,6 seg.

Ejamples: I press power button, it run and shutdown after 5,6 seg.
I press power button again and it run and load windows and work good for hours.
I shut it down and run again and it shutdown after 5,6 seg.
I power again and it work good. When it run and past 5,6 seg. it work perfectly. Temperature is OK. Every 20 times run it, 1,2 times it shutdown after 5,6 seg. Any idea where to look for the problem?

As I said in my first post it is not temperature issue. I have clean laptop inside and put new thermal pad to GPU and CPU, and also it works for hours perfectly it it start up and pass first 6 seg.

try to clean the board w/ ultra sonic cleaner, could be contact problem

if the problem persist, change the rtc battery and update bios.

ultra sonic cleaner I have is only for BGA. There is ultra sonic cleaner for big motherboard? Or you do it another way?

You can use EDS brush if you have or tooth brush with isopropyl alcohol 99%.

I have a post on psx-place for this but thought I'd try here as well in case anyone has experience or the schematics or any kind of help. Here's the original post from psx-place:

Hi, so I bought a YLOD Fat PS3 as I wanted a repair project and thought it would be a good way to get experience. I was able to solder to the RX, TX and Diag pads on the COK-002 motherboard and was able to get external access and retrieved the codes. I haven't powered it on beforehand so these should be the last ones. I did try to get internal access immediately after but kept getting scopen response...

AcuRite 5 in 1 temperature sensor replacement repair
              by CapLeaker
              Got a new victim:

AcuRite 5 in 1 Iris outdoor weather station not updating the temperature / humidity anymore. The original sensor is a SHT21. Also there are identical other sensor manufacturers. I chose the HTU21D to replace the original SHT21. Both have identical specs. I've had two failure modes with these sensors.
A: outside temp stuck at -40? It's cold here at times in Canada, but not that cold!
B: stuck at some temperature and maybe updating once in 12 hrs or so.

Easy solution is to go to AcuRite website and purchase the sensor. Right?...

Temperature to remove chips from motherboard
              by asdas09
What temperature with the heat gun should be use to remove large and small chips from the laptop and mobilephones motherboard? My problem is that the chips not easily remove from the motherboard, example 380°C degrees. I don't know if there is a difference with the devices that the temperature is not stable with them even it shows the right temperature, what should it be? I don't know if I should use higher temperature but the risk of destroying other components?

I have device Sugon 202. I'm used also normal flux and rosin flux.

              A1466 820-00165 intermittent shutdown
              by cruiser_
              hi there,

Got this macbook after liquid damage. Nothing major, cleaned and reflowed what was suspect. Now, the laptop turns on and boots up but shuts off intermittently - sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after a few hours.
Can be immediately started from keyboard right after. Plug stays orange during this time. No battery.

              Gives shutdown cause -128.

Seem to work fine in SMC bypass.

Same shutdown happens with disconnected TP/KB/KBLED/CAM.

              Observations:
              - SMC_RESET_L - when pulled down - plug goes orange/green and...

              ISL95880HRTZ desoldering temperature
              by Dreigas
              Hello,

I bought from China ISL95880HRTZ (3+1+1 Voltage Regulator with Expanded ICCMAX Register Range Supporting IMVP8 CFL/CNL CPUs) chip, which I think is not the original one, but anyway, I tried to resoldering it with a 380C hot air station. Seems soldering is pretty good, but the laptop doesn't work (it worked before, but still had some problems with power delivery).
Is there any big chance, that they sent me two fake ISL95880HRTZ chips or did I just use too big temperature for desoldering? I will try with another chip, but I can't find any info about the maximum desoldering...
