    Re: A1466 820-00165 intermittent shutdown

I wonder how come the CPU throttling differs. During multiple restarts it is either 0.9 or 1.4 but goes to 2.7 in smc bypass.
Attaching screenshot of hwsensors - the only thing that flips is PECI SA.
What determines 'the amount' of throttling?

MacBooks will not reach full boost clocks without battery.

that 2.7 in SMC bypass is without battery.

some update - would appreciate further guidance.

I've installed the battery and haven't had a shutdown in a number of hours. Works fine on charger as well as only on battery. However...
When it runs on battery, and i shutdown the system, it will not start without charger, unless I do an SMC reset or connect a charger.

Regardless of whether LIO is connected via flex. LID is high.
Smc on/off & smc_reset are high ; no reaction on pressing the button or grounding.

flex / keyboard / their flexes all look spotless. Battery's properly read in system / via coconut.

PPBUS_G3H in this case is battery voltage.
        PP3V42_g3H is 3.40
        No pp5v_s5

          Re: A1466 820-00165 intermittent shutdown

SDA/SCL lines seem ok, 3.4V and some chatter on.

first start off a connected battery is OK, then after shutdown - no way, unless I connect the charger again - even if just for a few seconds. When booted, most of the current/power sensors are reading 0, so there must be something funny going on with the transmission lines?

Tried that, no joy but were getting inconsistent results with e.g. lcd disconnected. It would turn on every time although the voltage or current sensors all 0.
Tried SMC reflow and now this bloody thing will only do some fan spinning....
Time for SMC reball I guess
